A little later in the episode it's revealed that the flashbacks of this episode takes place a billion years ago. In a time where human-like creatures lived on Earth, and then were exterminated by Gothel. Then cells began to create new life again, leading to fish, reptiles, dinosaurs develops and goes extinct, and after several more million years humans as we know them are developed...

If these aren't humans in the video, then what are they?
@atlekristiansen49754 жыл бұрын
I don't know. But Gothel said she killed all of them. And that some slimy lump would float ashore and crawl towards humanity again. Takes a «little» time to start life over at least. And I suspect that it's a lot more than a few thousand years ago. Seems plausable that it's quite impossible to create the exact same advanced species in two different times you create life, at least on the very next try. Sometimes you need to think for yourself what's happening to find the only logical solution. Human actors are probably playing the creatures in the episode for simplicity's sake, and magic creatures, like Gothel, can probably take what ever form they want to blend in...
@deoxysoverlord87104 жыл бұрын
@@atlekristiansen4975 They are humans though. That's why Gothel said: "I will never forget the humans that murdered them!" So presumably when she said she killed every last one of them, I think she meant everyone that went and murdered her family. Because after that when she reenters her home with the lady who has magic just like her, she tells her that the humans are now developing and becoming more advanced, and that since all of the tree nymphs were killed except her, that it has become a land without magic. What humans are she talking about, if she's killed every last one? So maybe Gothel just simply killed everyone who had part in her family's death, just like Carrie, who killed every student that laughed at her when she got pig's blood poured on her. Which is why Gothel says to everyone in the Ball room: "They must all pay!" She didn't kill every last human, just like Carrie didn't kill every student at the school. Just the ones that wronged her. Which is why after she kills all the humans at the ball, Gothel leaves Earth. And I'm pretty sure every human that went to the ball wasn't the entire population of humans. I'm just saying, though, this is just my theory. You can believe whatever you want to believe.

I would have let some people free so they can tell the rest how dangerous magic is and then they will stay away

But Gothel didn't want mankind to be afraid of her, she wanted mankind to die out. And if people had been even more afraid, they would have been even more averse to those who practice magic.

@@lpallad1 would her mother have wanted that? Would she even have wanted her to kill these people? She could have started to rebuild magic with Seraphina, create a new refuge for magic in that world.

@@agenttheater5 Obviously Gothel did not respect her mother's last wishes and dishonored her memory. But it doesn't change that these people have nevertheless shown that they do not deserve Flora's pity. If Gothel had done it this way, always playing on the defensive, she would still have been persecuted and harassed by such people. Because that's also why Isla exterminated the nymphs. Because she knew they weren't a threat and so she thought she could do it without consequences. In fact you saw how she in this scene, she first laughs and insults Gothel but then, when she realizes she doesn't have the knife on the side of her handle, she started begging for mercy like a coward. And this scene also serves to show how the people who discriminate and torment others by believing them to be monsters are stupid because, if the people they call monsters really are, those who torment them don't stay alive to tell it.

@@lpallad1 By no means did those people at the party and those women who pretended to be nice deserve her pity. Just saying she could have created a new refuge for magic with Serafina and this time never tell anyone where they are, see if there aren't humans willing to listen before killing them all

@@agenttheater5 In fact Gothel after this massacre could have stopped and done so, but precisely the thirst for revenge drove her crazy.
