In Ireland there is a lovely TV program - 'Cartai Post' - where the hosts take an old Irish postcard and try to recreate the scene in exactly the same place many years, and sometimes many decades, later.
I took inspiration from this to visit the places of my favourite movies and novels - the wonderful Don Camillo series. I started with the 'Don Camillo and Peppone' Museum in Brescello where I was guided by the fabulous people I met there - Gabriele, Paolo and Elena - to trace some of the locations of key scenes. A huge thank you to Susan as well.
The soundtrack for these two photo albums is "Don Camillo in Moscow" from Alessandro Cicognini (produced by Digitmovies, licensed by CAM). The photos taken from the original movies are copyright of Amato-Rizzoli-Cineriz (restored by Mediaset, Scuola Nazionale di Cinema and Cinecitta').

What struck me about this sequence was how instrusive the modern motor car is on our daily landscapes.Also the fact that everything changes in the end, some small changes , but even so, it changes in the end. Great work...I have an idea about an Irish Film that this could work for. regards Gerry from Dublin.

Miglior lavoro mai visto sulle locations di Don Camillo.... Complimenti ! Chissa' se da qualche parte c'e' sempre la quercia dove era sepolto il fratello del brusco... sarebbe suggestivo trovarla se c'e' ancora !
