You're right Regina loves henry and raised him, and blood doesn't make a family. Normally i would be on Regina's side. She is the one who raised him. But in this case Regina has been putting henry through years of emotional abuse. She made him feel crazy and lied to him about the curse. When Emma came she tried to get rid of her in any way she could even if it would hurt Henry. At the end of season 1 emma was the one who realized that her and Regina fighting would hurt Henry and decided to leave

Though I do think Regina's character is slowly heading in a better direction, saying that she "saved" Emma and Mary Margaret's lives is a big stretch. She just decided NOT to kill them. Alternatively, Regina should then thank Emma (and also Mary and David) for helping to save her from the wraith.

This was a beautiful moment yet very sad moment for me, because I am a loyal Evil Regal. For goodness sakes, Regina risked her life for Henry to bring Emma and Snow back by sucking up all that magic in the well, and all she gets is a lousy thank you in my opinion from Emma. However, I believe Henry meant his thank you and gave her a sincere hug. I wish the writers would have written that scene in the back of Gold's shop with a happier ending. It crushed me to see Regina's face.

While Regina's "kicked puppy dog" face makes me want to hug something and sob my eyes out... I understand why they didn't invite her. I thought Henry hugging her and Emma thanking her was pretty good of them, all things considered.

There's no doubt Cora set the ball in motion for Regina becoming to becoming who she is/was. She couldn't get back at Cora so she got back at Snow. She has some serious emotional scar to be sure, and has a distorted sense of love and that is Cora's doing. There's no doubt Cora was abusive to Regina. I think Regina is slowly changing, but that will be her arc for the season. She's a complex character, and that's the beauty of her character, and of this show.

And really, revenge for what? It's Cora who's to blame, she manipulated an innocent child to telling her, and then shaped Regina into the woman she is, but it's easier to blame a child. I think if Regina is to change, a big step is realizing it wasn't Snow's fault, it was Cora's. I still feel bad for Regina because she is trying to change, and I think she is changing.

The relationship between Cora and Regina is the very definition of dysfunctional. They so need to make an appointment to speak with the grasshopper.

Henry is not an object you know.. he doesn't 'belong' with Emma, She may love him and want to be in his life, she may have gone through hell to be with him.... but that doesn't make her more of a mother than Regina, if you wanna put it that way Regina also loves Henry, she too wants to be in his life and she's also going through hell to be with him, 'deserve' is an ugly word here, again Henry is not a prize but if you wanna put it like that they both fill your requirements.

Another thing is Maleficent said the Dark Curse will leave a void that can never be filled. Does that mean Regina can never be happy? I hope not, she's done horrible things but she's trying to make up for them and she's changing.

I don't care how unwelcome she would have been, I still wanted Snow, or especially Henry or Emma, to invite Regina along to dinner. The look on her face breaks my heart. :(

Ditto. She's getting better but it's hard not to when your 'usual' is trying to kill the entire Charming family and extended family. I think she needs to put some more work in before she gets invited to the celebration bbq's.

I knew that's what it was, as the above poster said, it's an unconscious mechanism. Regina didn't say "Hey, I'll blame the child since I can't blame mommy dearest!", since it's clear for a while she was very worried about the anger she harboured towards Snow. Cora was too powerful to get revenge on. I never thought about PTSD but now that the above poster mentioned it, it's a possibility.

Maleficent told Regina the curse would leave an emptiness inside her, and now that she's trying to change it's sinking in. You can't expect Regina, Emma and Mary to be BFFs, Regina has done a LOT of evil things, and a few good deeds don't make up for it. Regina isn't the complete victim. She's changing but Emma and Mary don't know that yet. Emma did thank her.

She decided to believe in Henry, and she took the damage from the well, that's a lot she could have died or end up facing her mother directly so I agree with Henry she did save them, it was very difficult for her to do that, and I actually don't know what she did or how she helped Gold.. he just used the wand.. unless somthething happen while we weren't watching :/

I'm taking offense in what you just said, the fact that she didn't give birth to him does not mean she's not his mother, that doesn't make Emma more of a mother than Regina, several members of my family are adopted and I would hate for someone to tell my aunts they are not my cousins mothers, that my cousins are not my family, that's horrible and very offensive. God! I really want to slap you right now....

Henry filled that void even before the curse broke, that's already been established by the creators, a question.. how can destruction bring happiness, love and whatever? isn't that the whole point of the series? destruction only brings pain, although in Cora's case... I don't know what to do of her, though I'm pretty sure she'll die I'm not comfortable with the idea of Regina doing it, that's got to leave scars.

Disagree with what? I think it's great Emma wants to be a part of Henry's life, I mean she obviously loves him and Henry loves her too, but that doesn't mean Regina should stop being his mother, she raised him, she is his mother just like Emma, even more than her if you ask me, but I don't want them to start fighting over who gets to keep him, they both should be a part of his life, he loves them both so I think they should make an effort and try to get along, that's the best for Henry.

Hmm Neal as Bae? that would be too predictable, kind of boring I'm hoping for something more interesting to happen, besides Bae was a good guy and Neal is just a really really bad man, with a warrant, who had a relationship with a 17 year old, he was 24 he could actually go to prison for that for like 15 years, it would depend on the state they were in but if Henry was conceived in Portland as it appears that could really happen.
