Hey with that unit being equipped with a txv shouldn’t you have charged to subcoooing? Not ball busting just a real question
@aaronclark15993 жыл бұрын
Yes, thats what he did.. he still needs to check his superheat to know that txv is working properly, if it's not you won't have either.

I dump the liquid throttled down a little with a ball valve till the liquid line gets to around 25’ over ambient let it run a few minutes then top it off. Done in 15 minutes tops.

Good troubleshooting, 2° subcooling is low as you already know, seems still low on refrigerant but superheat is good so evap is doing its thing, maybe someone messed with that txv
@erikrezlman79003 жыл бұрын
Maybe, maybe, maybe🧐
@thehvachacker3 жыл бұрын
I think the txv is off. Subcooling didn’t move much. Why I didn’t push adjusting the subcooling. Yet superheat was good. Also temp dropped inside, it was removing a lot of humidity
@pineychristian3 жыл бұрын
@@thehvachacker I think you had your high side temp probe in wrong location bud.. It was right off compressor which is hot gas. If you got TXV it belongs after the condenser section so gas condense back liquid so subcool can be accurately measured.

Coming from a stratus to the acutrak haven’t gone back. The ultrasonic never failed me at first you just gotta get use to. But big help I’d recommend it
@thehvachacker3 жыл бұрын
Do you have the one with gooseneck or metal extension probe
@AG-tg9in3 жыл бұрын
@@thehvachacker I had both but I ended up selling the gooseneck. But I made my own hack on the tip. I have different ones. The one I mainly use is a foam rod with vinyl tubing inside that way it’ll focus on direct sound instead of what’s around. I stayed with the metal probe cause I do a lot of commercials. And if I forget my Flir I can just go with sounds of the unit or etc. I personally think it’s worth it we’ll for me my opinion. Lol sorry long reply

What tools are you using, I’m interested in the hand held the one you use to check if there was a charge in the system and the leak detector and flash light to check for leaks
@AG-tg9in3 жыл бұрын
Job link probes from field piece. Just used measurequick app. Just gotta know just to. Setup if properly using right unless just checking if you have refrigerant.

Subcooling was pretty low, u think txv is a little off???
@thehvachacker3 жыл бұрын
It could be. Unit has a leak and this was to get it running. It was cooling with the low subcool. This unit needs to be replaced
@NationCraftbros3 жыл бұрын
seems like that txv is a little wonky lol possibly the sensing bulb lol you do have a decent superheat. this is one of those calls that make you scratch your head lol

How well do your fieldpiece probes take the Sun and heat? My 480 didn't take the Sun and I went back to my analog gauges.
@thehvachacker3 жыл бұрын
I have not had any problems with my probes. My testing 550 before were solid also. These probes haven’t caused any problems or didn’t work when I need them. Made me a believer in Fieldpiece again. I had bought a few meters when I first started and they would give out after a year or two.

Your supposed to charge a txv with sub cooling the txv is what regulates the superheat.
