Well… the unimaginable has happened. It's the same song that I shared in a blog post a couple weeks ago and pretty much the same music video. Only now, I'm not the only one singing it. Someone else is singing with me...

"When my wife Joey passed away in 2016, her friend Sandy was angry. And more than a little frustrated in the outcome of all the chemo and radiation that Joey was put through and also the outcome of all the prayers Joey and millions of other people prayed on her behalf. And as great writers do, she put that frustration down in a song. "Country music," Harlan Howard used to say is “Three chords and truth.” And I think it is, even when the truth hurts.
A year or so after Joey passed away, Sandy sent me a song in an email that just said, “...I had to get this song out of me to come to peace with the loss of my friend.” I've listened to the song a hundred times since then. And I understand her feelings. Although I think I fall on the side of gratitude most of the time, I have had moments of frustration that only leave me with more questions.
This fall when I decided to make a new album, the song Sandy emailed me was the first song we chose to record. In some ways, it was also the hardest. It said some very tough things. Some honest things that I believe it's okay to be human and feel, and maybe even important to share with others.
A few weeks ago, Sandy’s husband Jack saddled his horse and came and paid his respects to my pretty bride as the sun set and the sandhill crane's made their yearly trip through the skies overhead. Back to where something inside them is calling them to be.

Since then My Mom passed away suddenly then 3yrs later my Dad he had Alzheimers and other painful things. It's so very difficult to watch him suffer for 6yrs. I would have done anything for my Dad not to suffer so much. Then 2yrs after Dad my oldest sister Theresa passed she had brain tumors,strokes,and other health problems for 39yrs. You never see her down about her life she was so supportive to me and everyone around her. She gave us all her most Beautiful smile and laugh right before she passed. I truly miss each one of my Love ones. I know they are mine and my family Angel's watching over us. When I became disabled I kept telling myself to live my life like my big Sissy and it's has helped me through all the surgeries and other major health problems. I would do anything to have them back with us. Then I say to myself that I wouldn't want all their suffering all over again. Someday You & I will see Our love ones one day.

I recently lost my Moma to breast cancer. Jill, sorry for the loss of your brother. I lost my husband of 33 yrs to pancreatic cancer. He was 56. Cancer is a cruel disease and how they suffer and linger. It's heartbreaking seeing your loved one go through this. Jesus suffered for us and our loved ones are healed now. I push through but at times still have my angry moments. It will always come in waves! Tomorrow will be 3 yrs . I pray for everyone on these posts who's lost loved ones to cancer .

God is good I just hope I can stay as strong as Joey did. I lost my sister to cancer in2010 in Marion Indiana my heart still breaks. At least she had family there to support her thru. The thing about the Bible is God never promised us an easy life in fact it says the opposite. John 16:33…In this world you will have trouble…But He is Emmanuel, God with us. He shares our burdens and as Psalms 56:8 says He saves our tears. Sorry for the lost of your brother. Hopefully you will see him again someday.

Joeys hymns are what we played for mom when she was passing that recorded played for a week straight. She passed on Jan 3rd 2020 to stage 4 lung cancer. I was by her side everyday. I Miss her everyday.

Even the sky showed it’s love of this song. The scene in the spot where Joey rests was breathtaking. The golden hour light. Just as the gentleman mounts his horse to go, a shot at the sky behind him shows what struck me as the wings of an angel! Dolly lending her voice was such a gesture of love. Just beautiful. Start to finish.

When my son was murdered, I felt like I didn't want to live anymore. I fought so hard with the strength of our LORD to realize I had other children and a husband that needed me but it has taken (6) long, painful years to try and live in joy and not to merely exist. Indiana (Indy) is that 'seedling' that Joey planted in your lives_ Now cultivate, nurture, and love her enough for the both of you. I lost a 4 year old daughter to brain cancer. They wanted to do more experimental drugs but we said that was enough. We brought her home n 5 days later she passed. But she's in heaven with Jesus.

I applaud this video as a demonstration of my pain. We lived a gifted life, through struggled to achieve it over 37 years. Our achievements of homeowners, careers and beautiful children. We lost our oldest son in 2006, a pain that was imaginable. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the Fall of 2013 and given 7 mos. of our time together. He decided that he did not want to continue with chemo after an adverse reaction, and I let him make that decision out of respect for his journey. This song is of loss, but also of the future if you listen to it.
