Cheers Rob. A part of me thinks "Not another f$#*&n shopping complex", yet just maybe, these 'creatures' are just as much a part of Bangkok culture as other aspects. If Bangkok continues to have that mix of old & new, traditional & modern, where you're not sure what's around the next corner....then that is Bangkok / Thailand...and that works for me. 🙏

I even found myself at the end realising how I would actually make the most of that mall visiting lumphini park.. so I guess it kinda has its place just like the rest some how.. such a hugeeee city to explore and very hot! Almost a warm welcome for a content creator haha

Been here only one week and checked out the Seacon Bangkae and Mall Lifestore Tha Phra closest to me. Gradually will make it to the BIG fellows (IconSiam, CentralWorld, and One Bangkok) along with Siam Center and Siam Square since I'm here for two months. And in typing all of that just realized how many giant shopping complexes there are here lol. 😮

Definitely like to check it but I’m with you Rob , Emisphere is my favourite now for the array of food as for shopping still T21 is my choice . Awesome vlog and thanks for showing us around .

Nice vid man, I skipped the opening weekend as I knew it would be a madhouse! Think I will hit it this week. Went up to Chocolate Ville tonight for Halloween scenery pretty nice but was crowded and probably be worse each night until Halloween

Although another shopping mall in Bangkok may not be exciting or auspicious, specifically this one is useful for the population living in Silom and Sathorn areas. It’s the first one there. This whole One Bangkok complex, however, looks bland, corporate, and soulless. I’m afraid it might be too much hype for what they have actually delivered.

actually the one bkk project consists of hotels, offices building, condos and malls, not just the malls

I’m consistently impressed with how Bangkok can build new malls. The vibes are always different from those of other malls in the city, and they’re always busy. In contrast to London, UK, the malls are absolutely tiny, and half the shops have closed. The exception is when you do find shops open-they’re the same shops on your local high street!!

My sister (who's an Architect) was there yesterday, and she told me it's an architectural disaster. The mall needed not be there actually. Overall, the corporate office buildings together with the hotel building were good enough. The mall , which again is a confusing structure on its own could have been avoided. Anyways...it's bangkok...the city that's turning itself into a mall-o-sphere on its own. Looking forward to seeing the One BKK soon.

Nice video Rob, Another shopping mall when we will they stop with more shopping malls. Sadly many brand things like clothes, perfumes , watches and so are more expensive than in Europe. Again you see the same shops like anywhere else in BKK except for the small shops. The mall doesn't look bad good for the people also who work at One Bangkok

In SEA, new malls pop up constantly but in the west they are shrinking due to efficient online orders and delivery. Although the malls in SEA are stunning. If innovative companies like Amazon or Temu enter the market, these malls will have massive problems

I don't think so. It seems malls in Bangkok are like parks and the parks there are always full, so the malls. There's more to do than shop. That's not the case in most North American malls

I have read many same kind of comments form westerners saying like shopping malls in Thailand is doing good because we don’t have shopping online like amazon, you think Thailand is a third world country so we still don’t have crazy shopping online culture or what? We have Shopee and Lazada in SEA, I don’t know about other countries but Shopee, Lazada is pretty big thing in Thailand and it’s actually ‘efficient online order and delivery’ that I don’t think that Amazon and Temu can even have a chance here, btw Temu had already entered Thailand for few months. In my opinion Shopee app is actually more addict than Amazon ( I used Amazon before when I traveled to US) they always have code for free delivery and discount everyday, big code for discount every month, many channels for live sale, game for coin, they give you coin after you review the item so you can use coin for discount next time, money credit in case you don’t have enough money to lure people to spend more (but I never use it). Same items in Shopee are cheaper than Temu. You can know the detail for delivery the same as Amazon, the deliver man always call me before deliver the items, sometime I get the items next day after order but normally it take 2-3 days but you can choose fast delivery which more expensive and get the parcel next day. Shopee and Lazada actually have effect on shopping malls ( and also other normal shops) less customers buying at shopping mall so they have to adjust by adding more restaurants/event area and less shopping area.

Our country is a hot and humid. Electricity bills are quite expensive compared to neighboring countries. By nature, Thai people like to go to shopping malls and eat out more than staying at home in order to save on electricity bills. This is my personal opinion as someone who grew up in this country.

I can confirm both Lazada and Shopee are amazing! Super efficient service and prices to match. People from the west who have never come here think we are living in the Stone Age still.. I got asked if we had McDonald’s here the other day 😂
