Thanks for posting ! It's cool seeing someone else using an A6 Hobonichi & Field Notes for their system who is also in academics. I also watch Megan Rhiannon, and I love how you used her stickers. Looking forward to future uploads :)

@@joyofstationery Yes ! Coincidentally, I just started using Field Notes for just a place to write down quick notes and such. Along with that and the A6 Hobonichi, I’ve been using an A5 Stalogy to journal. I love it :D

@@heatherk255 that's how I started with the Field Notes too! I'd be interested to try out an A5 Stalogy for journaling, it's definitely been on my radar :)

I admire how structured your notebooks and planners are! And your handwriting is so beautiful to look at- very interesting that you write in between the lines/dots (if I am seeing this correctly). Thank you for all the inspiration. I hope your companions will continue to serve you well in all your future projects. Greetings from Vienna, Janette

And by the way, I saw you also own a paperblanks notebook: aren't they gorgeous? And also the paper quality is very good regarding ghosting and bleed through as is the binding. I think they are very underestimated. Now I'm done:).

@@janettepiechota4921 oh thank you so much for your lovely and kind comments! 🤗 I'm so glad to hear that this could serve as some inspiration! you're actually right, and I hadn't consciously realised for myself: I do tend to write in between the lines/dots! the paperblanks notebooks really are so beautiful ~ and yes, surprisingly good paper quality I've found! welcome, and Vienna is one of the top next places I would love to visit!

I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel. I love seeing how other in academia use their planners. Recently, I started using MD paper slim in A6 and I like how it slides into the slot of my planner cover. I've used field notes once before but, the MD paper was more accessible to me.

aw welcome and same! 🤗 I've often wished I could see more inspo on how others in academia use their planners. MD paper is so lovely, and I ought to try out more of their notebooks. I'll put the slim in A6 on my list!

Another academic here! It’s such a nice surprise that I came across your video. Your videos have been so helpful in working out a system to help me manage multiple projects. I’ve been debating whether to dedicate a separate notebook for teaching rather than putting it together with other projects in a single notebook. I haven’t see your latest video but do you prefer to keep teaching and research together?

hello and welcome to a fellow academic! I am so happy to hear that the videos have been helpful! that's a great question that is definitely an ongoing one for me, trying to determine how best to organize research and teaching. At the moment I've reached the decision that for me it helps to have the main components of teaching and research in separate notebooks/techos ~ there's some nuance to that, in that I do have a Hobonichi weeks in which I keep track of (aka list) all of my "ongoing projects" all together, and there I include the courses I'm teaching/prepping/designing, but that is the extent of it for teaching on there. So the system that I'm now trying out is keeping an A5 day free for the courses I teach for each semester, and then keeping a separate techo for research. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out, and I'd welcome any thoughts you have as well, if there's anything that you've found works well for you!

oh, that's a great idea! I should think about making an update for the Field Notes! I'm wanting to be more intentional about them, too, so this might be a perfect occasion to do this ~ I have absolutely been loving your setup and would love to hear how the field notes are going for you too!
