Something I don’t understand. You work when it is -20 below to make sure the babies can stay warm, bust your knuckles on machines, slip and slide in a cow decorated slime trailer, every day so that I can sit down and enjoy a prime angus steak. Thank God you have 231 thousand followers. Proud to be one! And then there is the podiatrist who sits in a warm chair with a set of dags trimming toe nails with 1.7 million followers. What is wrong with this nation. We need to appreciate Brian and Cole for what they-do for this country, and then share via video the long days and the hard work they do. Just want you to know I appreciate you guys. Thank God for the farmers and ranchers in our country. God bless you!

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Super jobs with all the new calves. Your cows and calves look good and healthy. My compliments to you both on the wonderful care you give your herd. I am really proud of both of you. You both are great with them and caring about the shelter they have and everything that goes with that. I understand why people want one of your bulls or cows because they know the care you give them. Cole you are really good with the calves with dad helping keep mom away from you so everyone is safe. Outstanding teamwork!!!!!!!! Take care in the snowstorm. Thanks for everything Sonne’s. The Iowa Farm Boy.

My father had a small dairy herd. He let the cows keep their calves until age 3 months. He would also be milking the cows after the first two days colostrum. The cows and calves were NOT ready to be apart at 3 months! They would be put in separate yards, but could still hear each other. They would be mooing as loudly as possible. EVERYBODY in the area could hear them!! A mile and a half away, they could still be heard! And they kept it up all day, all night, for 3 days and nights! By then they would have laryngitis. After their throats healed, they were generally resigned, but not always. One cow in Particular, called her calf to her, and resumed nursing on the sly. Dad didn't catch her at it until the following year's calf failed to thrive. The cow had this year's calf on one side, and her full grown last year's steer kneeling on her other side, sucking away vigorously!! Dad sold that big veal asap!! After which the current calf throve, and dad was getting double the milk from the cow. She went from being only a fair milk cow to champion producer, and that made the difference for dad to break even that year.

Brian, Here's my suggestion for a bull calf "Denney." Here's why...Our last name is Denney, I have one son who has had a precious daughter and it's unsure if they will have a second little one. If he doesn't have a boy, our last name ends with him. Also, my uncle's sons had all daughters and they're not having any more children. It would be nice to see the Denney name continue for at least one more generation. Thanks. - Kent

Really like your channel, Cole you are very fortunate to have the father you have and him as well. I grew up in Alberta Canada with what I feel was one of the best Angus breeders ever Cecil Armitstead, if you google him you will see that you probably have some of his offspring. When I was a kid ( I’m now 58 ) we had a map of the world on the wall and my grandma had pins wherever his cows had gone. When he retired he sold his herd to a man down south can’t remember but apparently it was really hot and those poor cows suffered until the got acclimatize. Anyway when I watch I think of him and working cattle with him, the best years of my life he was an incredible man and Brian you and him would have gotten along great !
