My boss ran a gaming store and he had a habanero pepper eating challenge. One kid probably 13 years old he ate 5 and won. That kid started throwing up blood an hour later. I was freaking out that we needed to get this kid to the hospital but my boss ignored me and gave him ice cream. The kid lived but I didn’t think he was going to make it. Ran into him about 8 years later and he said he had permanent ulcers and acid reflux since that day. I don’t think anyone under 18 should do anything like this even if it’s something you can buy in the store. There is a reason you feel pain it’s your body warning you to stop doing what your doing. There is a difference between spice, heat, and PAIN.

@@user-lt4jo2fw7s sadly his mom was a junkie prostitute so essentially he was living at the gaming store because his mom would just dump him on us and leave for days on end. It was very sad and I do know he ended up going to jail himself but still was a sweet kid. It was a real shame he was such a good kid and kept his nose clean until his mom moved in with a drug dealer and I guess he got abused and was forced by his mom to deliver drugs for her boyfriend (hence him getting arrested not her boyfriend.) guess sacrificing your child’s future for a junkie drug deal your doinking is common in this area. We babysat tons of kids who’s parents were trash and would just drop kids off and leave them for sometimes 16 hours well after close these little kids would be sitting around. I don’t know why my boss would let this happen but he said we had to deal with it. It led to some messed up kids doing things with each other and causing drama. There were even accusations of my boss and some of the other adult males doing things with some of the trashy underage girls. I couldn’t prove anything but I ran once it got to where I suspected it was true. I live in a horrible town and I hate it the people are so horrible.

Certain other activities gave risks, but you know" mumy body my choice," except when it comes to kids transitioning which can also end in death, I researched before making that decision as an adult and the mortality rate and rate secondary to infection, were enough for me, as an adult, to weigh my options and make my decision. So glad I didn't have the option as a child. On the bright side, maybe I'll have surgery in 5 to 10years after they work out all the kinks with the experimental surgical experience they are getting right now. May lead to advancements.

I was dumb enough to try this challenge bc I eat very spicy food. Not only will I never try it again, I have warmed others to not to do it. Yes the chip is hot, but for me that was not the issue. It’s what it does when it hits your stomach. I felt immediate pain with made go into a fetal position. Then I felt immense heat coming from within my body. I had to go into the shower with my clothes on and run cold water on me for 30 mins to cook me off. I told my husband to fill a bathtub with cold water and sat in it for about 45 mins. All in the meanwhile comforting my stomach from the severe cramps. I told my husband they shouldn’t be selling this stuff, someone will die from this. It’s not shocking at all to hear that someone did. I felt like I was dying. Very scary.

I can’t speak for shock or brain damage, but it would have the exact opposite of high blood pressure. Capsaicin is one of the healthiest things in the world. It has great benefits for blood pressure, heart health, inflammation, weight loss, and many other things. The problem with this challenge is tolerance levels. Most people don’t eat a lot of spicy food. When they do it’s mildly spicy. What most would consider spicy is in the 10,000-100,000 scoville range, those chips are in the millions. Their body simply hasn’t built the tolerance and resistance for the amount of capsaicin found in those chips. It’s like someone who’s never drank trying to drink at the pace of an alcoholic friend. Though capsaicin isn’t bad for like alcohol, you’ll still go into shock or have a negative reaction just the same. If the kid built his tolerance over time, then he wouldn’t have had the same problems. I would never try it, nor do I recommend it. But I also think guys like the shop owner and the “no reactions guy”would be fine. That’s because they’ve spent years progressively building their capsaicin tolerance to the appropriate level.

Odd that kids around the world have been having heart attacks and other cardiac related deaths at more than qaudrouple the rate as normal. It was giving to him from a classmate, and from my understanding he went to football practice then home and that's when he start experiencing complications. It's sad, but I don't believe that his parents want to be compensated for their lost, trust me, they would give up every thing they own to have him back, so I don't think they want a pay day for losing him

I did this one night at work, I lasted the 10 minutes I was aiming for before drinking milk. The whole time I just paced around the room sweating. Then 1 hour later it was like lava. I was staying at work (a hotel) that night so I told my coworkers “if you here growling it’s just me on the toilet lol” Took me 4 times to get it all out the other side… definitely not doing that again after that but now this 😮

I did the cinnamon challenge as a kid (on video), and it hospitalized and nearly killed my best friend. I wouldn't say it was my parents fault, because they didn't know I had a stolen iPod touch where I watched all the vids... But yeah, that changed me for sure.

Not really. It said on the packaging that it's not for kids. Kids should be held responsible for their own actions. They keep things from parents all the time. I just skip it. I just don't. I don't watch it. I don't eat it. I don't even try it. Just because I guess. Everyone was all over Lords of the Rings, I was fed up with it but I resisted to watch it. It took me years to take the trouble ok. After 17 minutes the faken guy was still on the same road the same ride, I faken took out the DVD and threw it in the trashcan. Everybody is all about what is it called ... Game of Thrones ... I am still not willing to watch it at all. And I won't. It must be a piece of sh.. if everyone loves it. You know.
