Try to use the material from don mock from blues to jazz since this is a dominant chord,try this arpegios (A7, C#7dim, em7, GM7) pentatonic scales Bm (D),Em (G),F#m(A) and ofcourse the one everyone uses the Am (C) the bluesy one, so 4 arpeggios and 4 pentatonic scales (note that all this shapes/combinations are in A mixolydian scale) have fun :)

Thank you so much, this is well needed, i have a tendency on always focusing on the next chord or the progression pattern instead of doing the best thing possible on the current chord. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Hey man, I’m assuming you play guitar, so I have a question: a lot of backing tracks have a key but have a chord progression to them with different chords. Assuming I’m just practicing my pentatonic scale, I would have to change my scales and forms based on what the root of that chord is right ? For example, if I find a backing track in Aminor with the chord progression Am, Em, G, Am, I can’t just play the Am pentatonic form 1-5 the whole time, correct ?
@asdqwe1236103 жыл бұрын
If a track is in the key of A minor, you can use the A minor pentatonic scale the entire time, regardless of the chords. You CAN, as in, all the notes will sound fine, but you might not necessarily want to. Some next steps might be to learn the A minor scale (not just the pentatonic one, but the 'full' one with seven notes) and play around with that a bit. Next you might want to try to follow the chords, so focus on hitting notes in the E minor chord while it is playing, and notes in the G Major chord while it is playing, etc.

@@asdqwe123610 hm ok makes sense. I needa work more on this. Thanks for the reply man, I appreciate it
