I see state patrol do a traffic stop almost every day, several times a week. Debris ends up in one of more lanes and it needs to be cleared for safety. Traffic saw that he was trying to stop traffic once he got out of the median. He didn't pull in front of anyone that couldn't stop safely. As we say in the video, the only person that didn't stop was the one being pursued and he was the one that wrecked going slower than 30mph.

@@bluflaam777LSA lol that's luck. Luck that the 4th or 5th car in line driving on the hwy round a corner saw and reacted to the other cars stopping just in time. I get wanting to shut down reckless drivers and riders, but that guy on a bike wasn't going to hurt anyone but himself until the cops decided to start chasing him.

@@John_Redcorn_ It's much safer than having him keep going. Cops do traffic halts on freeways everyday safely. Work ladders and random debris end up in one or more lanes and state troopers have to make a traffic break to clear it. I didn't see anything unsafe that the cop did that halted the traffic. The only unsafe thing was that ravine/river where the bike had to stop before he dove into it. But by that time he was only going 30-40mph and slowing down.

Speaking of taking drastic and bat shit insane measures to stop a pursuit, again in Arkansas, y'all should the dashcam of the trooper that intentionally hit a wrong way driver head on to get him stopped. The action starts at approximately the 2:15 mark, the accident is at the 20:50 mark. Although it's a long video, the meat of it is over by about the 25 minute mark. The rest is just showing the clean up, arrest and the fire department showing up to attend to everyone. Also there isn't a narrator with this one, it's just the raw ASP radio traffic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXelZKF5rLempMk *The Trooper & the wrong way driver were OK, nothing life threatening

The state patrol does stop crimes. You just don't see those on YT because they're boring to watch. BTW, in this type of traffic you can't get up to any higher speed without running into a car in front of you. The cop was on the left pushing traffic to the right. The bike couldn't go much faster. BTW, you're talking about sport bikes. He wasn't riding a Hayabusa or a Ninja H2R right? It was probably used and could only go about 135-150 mph with no traffic. For him to get to 140+ is plenty fast enough. He couldn't maintain that speed at all. You saw that most of the time he was hovering 130 or less.

I agree this cyclist needs to be in jail. However, 3 or 4 cop cars doing these kind of speeds and pulling into hwy traffic to stop it is far more dangerous to public than this one cyclist. I doubt the cyclist would have continued if they called off the pursuit. I dont know the right answer but what the cops did was extremely dangerous for the public on the hwy. So this is BS. Protect the public not the cops ego. Arkansas is known for cops pulling this crap.

I agree that it's equally dangerous for the cops to go that fast usually, and they generally are called off.
