One cycle of Xeloda down, 7 to go!

Radiation burns are finally healing and I made it through the first cycle of Xeloda and Keytruda. Only seven more cycles to go.
I am a stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer Survivor. I have completed 6 months of Chemotherapy and immunotherapy, had a double mastectomy, 6 weeks of radiation, and and now on an oral chemotherapy with more immunotherapy to finish out my treatment. It has been a long road, but we are getting to the end.

I love your attitude. Recently had a lumpectomy and set to begin chemotherapy soon. After chemo I will have 4 weeks of radiation. Hoping I can have an attitude like you throughout my treatment. This week I will find out what type of chemotherapy I will receive.

Thank you for words of encouragement. I had my first chemo treatment on Monday, felt great. Tuesday felt great until bedtime, side effect kicked it. Wednesday same side effect, fatigued all day. Today I feel like a train wreck! I am taking it one day at a time.

Just roll with the punches, do and move when you feel good and rest when you don't. Eventually you will get to the end, I promise!

I’m starting radiotherapy and xeloda next week for 6 weeks for colorectal cancer and I’m terribly nervous about it all but THANK YOU for your post as I’m now feeling more positive knowing you’re doing so great and the side effects weren’t as bad as I thought. Our journeys are very similar... TNBC, bilateral mastectomy, and mine has returned and this time brought along with it a Malignant Pleural Effusion. I've had 5 radiation treatments and will begin Xeloda for palliative care in a couple of days. A LOT of things going through my head right now and I'm praying the Xeloda helps me.🙏🏾

hang in there! I find the fatigue hard on xeloda but lots of people do great on it.
