The mark of a good detectorist is taking an average dig and making it interesting and you did that with this one. I enjoyed watching and it made me realize all my digs aren't really failures. Every item found has a history and have some value. Good job, and as always a good video.

At least you had a couple of decent finds, the tear drop mounts looked nice, hope you and yours are keeping well. take care mate GL & HH Tom

you didn't show in vid., but only on wrap up, 2nd row; a wheel to a chair. I also want a nibbler hat! Hahaha! So far my best finds are a nickel from the 40s and a wheatie from the 20s (can't read the last number on either)
@QuarterHoarder7 жыл бұрын
+Gina Gelinas I still think old wheat pennies are cool. Congrats on an early one from '20s! Those '40's nickels could be 35% silver depending on the year so double check yours, 1942-1945 are the good ones. Your ID on that piece was correct. Turned out to be a caster wheel off of something. I'll keep you posted if I hear Nibbler hats are coming to a Target near you! Lol. Take care Gina and thanks for stopping.

One of items that you found looks like a folder or foot for a sewing machine
@QuarterHoarder7 жыл бұрын
Turns out that's what it was after all. I never would have guessed it either. Thanks for the help on it Vickie!

That item that you said it was some type of mangled up tool was a foot to a sewing machine.

Mangled metal,, a war issue can opener?

Not 100% sure but the piece above the harmonica reed looks like a caster off an old piece of furniture.
@QuarterHoarder7 жыл бұрын
I think you're right about that Todd. I missed it during my wrap-up but now going back over everything I can clearly see the castor design. Maybe off a piano or furniture like you said. Really appreciate the ID help on that!

6:44 is a parasol slid, predates common modern umbrella from 1870's to 1910 apx.
@QuarterHoarder7 жыл бұрын
That's exactly right. Wasn't sure the date range though. Actually found another one just today at another old property. Add it to my parasol museum collection! lol Thanks Rachel for the ID help!
@rachelthompson93247 жыл бұрын
cellar hole looks modern, hard to see in the video, but part of it looks like poured concrete. they didn't use poured concrete much other than industrial before about 1900, other parts are mortar and stone so that might be older but the poured stuff is post industrial revolution

The piece you said was connected to a desk, (has a bar through the middle) maybe a base for a door knock..? I have an old door knock with nearly the same features. Anyhoo, the Nibblers hat was to much..love it! Great hunt Jason!

That's a possibility. It's pretty crusted over but I'll try to clean it more to get a better look at it. I appreciate the ID help on it and hopefully that's right!

Nice old property it may have been detected before that seems to be my luck lately. T-Hawk

I think it was fill dirt when the grounds were redone. Almost all the old finds we did get were from one small section. I think the rest may have had fill dirt put over it back in the 50's or 60's. Still happy with the little bit we did manage to save!

On paper this was a real gold mine. Slightly disappointed but not terrible. On to the next spot, that's what we do! Happy hunting to you too.

Curious: What type of clothing were the flat buttons used for? Dresses?
@rachelthompson93247 жыл бұрын
I like the brass hose nozzel, they stopped making that kind in the 1970's, new ones like it aren't brass

buttons mean people, awesome flat button, I think that might be a buckle from a saddle the small round one. .
@QuarterHoarder7 жыл бұрын
Was hoping for more but that flat button and the buckles were great finds and I was really happy with them. For now though, on to the next site.

Bc I'm a car guy I waited the whole rest of the video to see the car in a ditch. Haha was wondering if you could drive the Couple hours back to get some video of it? Lol. Jk. Great video men.
@QuarterHoarder7 жыл бұрын
I was hoping to see it too but it wasn't on the surface. The homeowner told me that when he bought the place back in 1970, just the roof was still showing and the rest was buried. All these years later the whole thing is covered now. He thought it was a 1928 Plymouth Model Q Coupe but he doesn''t remember for sure. Oh well...

Quarter Hoarder dang I love the 20s to 50s cars. Now I'm sad. Haha. Imma go dig it out. Lol. Great videos Jason. Can't never wait to see more hunts from you
