I am, too! I keep rewatching episodes 10 and 12 and the end of episode 14. The part where Dexter is sobbing in the bed and his dad overhears him crushed me. I wish their love story could have kept going. This was such a good show and their chemistry was so believable.

Netflix is really sleeping on their chemistry (esp off screen). Why are they not doing more press?! Also they should do another project together, with a happier ending this time!

It is much better than the movie. As a book lover I was skeptical when I new this story was being re-told but, this was spectacular. Amazing acting, writing, production and the way they fleshed out the story while staying true to the book was brilliant.

Yes the dialogue, the casting, the acting is just good and instead of catching me off guard with a cruel and abrupt death like the movie as if to say screw Emma the series broke my fucking heart 😭😭😭 love Anne Hathaway but they did Emma dirty in that one and the besties were too flirty for my taste, made them look more like fwb than Emma pining after Dex while living her life. I hardly remember the movie honestly aside from the Mexican restaurant and them kissing sometimes (don’t think friends do that lol) but at least with the series they had moments but never made it physical aside from when they first met ofc but it felt slow burn after that as well and it lowk reminds me of another series I love called bones where the two protagonists aren’t exactly friends and are opposites but their relationship grows over time which is just more romantic imo

I was skeptical as well but definitely a pleasant surprise for me and one of my favorite watches this year plus a series that fleshes out everything is literally what every book needs rather than a movie that likes to cut down things

I watched the show two days ago, and I still can’t get it out of my head. Emma and Dexter felt so real to me-I loved them both and rooted for them through every twist and turn. Their story was beautiful, messy, and so deeply human. But Emma’s death completely shattered me. It was so unexpected and heartbreaking, yet it gave the story an even deeper meaning. This show is such a powerful reminder of how fragile life is and how important it is to cherish the people we love. Seeing that so many others feel the same way has been comforting-it shows just how deeply this story has touched people. I’ve been watching KZbin interviews with the cast and creators, and finding new content about Emma and Dexter has really helped me process it. How has everyone else been coping with that emotional ending?

Amazing series. I was not familiar with the book/movie so everything was a surprise. Both actors were absolutely brilliant as was the entire cast. I was gutted at the end. I will re-watch. One of the best series I have ever watched. Kudos to the entire production.

Might sound odd, but Leo reminds me of a young Sean Astin mixed with Macaulay Culkin 😊. This show broke me, but was also so lovely to watch (I’m an 80s kid from Europe, so nice and nostalgic, too). What great chemistry these two have, and they performed beautifully ❤️.

Macaulay Culkin and Dacre Montgomery (Billy from Stranger Things) were my exact thoughts while watching the series! And Ambika also reminded me of a few different stars: the tiktoker Hala, Anya Chalotra (Yennefer from The Witcher), and somehow also Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne from Bridgerton). 😅

I think they liked when everything between Emma and Dex was just starting out. They love the early days of the shoot, the clothes they wear, what they feel etc. In some ways, I feel like the filming of this story wasn’t that easy on them too, because of the obvious toxic nature their relationship as time goes by. Glad it worked though, as they said so
