My one day build is gonna be a video of me filling up an air mattress, hooking up a space heater, plugging in my tablet, and pouring ice into my styrofoam cooler from family dollar. 😂. I have plastic bags for poop, the lugabaloo is fine, kitty litter for kindness, matches for air quality, jug for urine , baby wipes for stuffs, two 5 gallon water jugs, and a ton of pillows and comforters under the crew bench. The rest will come as it comes.

Don't use kitty litter, it is very eco unfriendly and does not break down. Try horse stall pellets. Very cheap, compressed wood, and soaks up everything.

My Dad built squads for Horton back in the mid to late 90's. Not sure if they're stillopen or not, but back then they were located in Grovecity Ohio. Due to small scratches on the plexiglass they throw those cabinets out all the time. Our house didn't have many original cabinets soo one whole wall had squad cabinets for the top cabinets for like 15 years lol We also had had that pain in the butt to clean linoleum in our bathroom, but it was burgundy

I’m doing a similar build. Just got a 2000 Ford e350 Ambulance. Keeping things simple. I used a twin tri-fold mattress from Amazon to put over the bench as my bed. Fit great.

I built out a 25' For d E-450 wheelchair bus. Dual solar controllers, 400ah of lithium, 3000w converter.. all Victron. A year ago, 3 months after it was done,, a big tree fell on it. Just grabbed a type3, 2005 E450 ambulance, for very little money. I don't plan to change much. Just swap my systems over, engine, and some wheels, and tires. Coming from a shuttle bus owner ,... Ambulances are awesome!

Finally, a single person's build! (olde farte confirmed bachelor here) How quiet are the alum. cabinets out on the dirt or gravel roads? I think I'd have hung a mini-split condenser off one of the back doors after filling the roof with solar panels. And I'd build some nice mag. window inserts to keep the heat/chill out and give privacy. All the bulbs would be replaced with LED plug-ins. What sort of engine and mileage do you have/get? And, of course, you have all that external storage for everything else you want or need. Ambulances are excellent camper vehicles.

Thanks for the questions. An ambulance makes less noise than a regular camper but it is not quiet. Mileage is 11MPG for gas and 13MPG for diesel. I have owned both.

Good luck! The cabinetry in these vehicles is much nicer and more durable than any motorhome I have ever seen. Having said that, I can appreciate richness of some wood and stone like a home but most motorhomes scream flimsy and cheap and only offer cheap wall coverings and vinyl.

Just saw your video, I have a 2003 horton ., just wondering what u have to do to use the wiring that they have in these rigs, and disconnect the whole system upfront, ?
@edworks7718
@edworks7718 2 жыл бұрын
If your question is how to not use it or only use part of the electrical system, I have not been successful in finding out how to do this. I would like to use some of the switches on the control panel to control heat or to turn on my inverter. I have not discovered how that is accomplished. I need the manual for the system which I cannot find online.

once completed are you going to do adventure vids?
@edworks7718
@edworks7718 2 жыл бұрын
NOt likely. The average KZbin adventure videos are very sophisticated including drones and high-end camera equipment with custom music tracks. At this time I am only guilty of being a builder. I wanted something that could carry a lot of tools while allowing me to travel long distances with a sleeper and a kitchen. I am particularly interested in doing this year-round in northern climates. At present, I am installing a Webasto gas furnace to keep the interior warm with the engine off.
@saladbreath607
@saladbreath607 Жыл бұрын
A big reason I bought an ambulance was that the interior is of high quality and 90% done already. I cringe when i see people tearing the inside out.

It reminds me of someone buying a 10-year-old house and tearing it down to build their dream home. Although the result can be spectacular, I find it difficult to watch the demolition. If I could only do one thing and one thing only to an ambulance, it would be stand-up headroom. If you can stand in an ambulance, you are far ahead of the game.

The walkthrough was informative and nice to see. I like ambulances. I appreciated you pointing out what was what. Each ambo is different. The music though really ruined the experience. The audio was very fuzzy on your voice, and the music drowned it out. My ears are hurting needlessly which makes me angry. DO NOT ADD MUSIC TO ANY DIY, DEMO, TOUR, COOKING, OR WILDLIFE VIDEO. GOLDEN RULE OF FILM MAKING. DO NOT ADD MUSIC. IT PLEASES NO ONE & IRRITATES EVERYONE. 8,700 people saw this video. Ambulance builds are very popular, yet you only got 215 Likes. Does that tell you something? Turn off the music even if you wrote it, played it, and like it. Its awful. Save it for your man cave and beer buddies. Do a proper build of your ambulance instead of these temporary workarounds. Make it nice. Why buy such a cheap toilet when you can get a Porta Potty for $100 that does not smell and can handle liquids. This is a very clumsy DIY build. It is functionally limited and not well thought out. Do your homework and make it more livable and functional. No stove, no fridge, no bathroom with shower, mattress very narrow, no sink, no power. That pokey little inverter is a joke. Get a real one. There are two things that turn a van into a home: Power, and a Bed. Neither are adequate to sustain you for even a week.

I have plenty of room for improvement. KZbin tells me 65% of viewers are still watching at around the 0:30 mark, which is above typical. I also know that 30% of viewers are still watching at the 17-minute mark which is above average. Like you, people that watch these ambulance videos like to watch anything they can get their hands on. I would direct you to the professionals at Tiny Home Tours who create excellent productions more suited to your more critical eye.

@@edworks7718 Your stubborn refusal to listen to a commenter may serve you well on difficult projects you have to plough thru, but does not serve you at all with regard to viewer ratings. Music irritates most people. Only a few tell you about it. Keep being obtuse and stubborn. Your channel with shrink with time. No one wants to lose their hearing.
