Nice video of Bamberg. I spent time in Germany many years ago and never made it there. Würzburg and its surrounding small towns around are great places to visit, as well. Enjoy your time to the fullest in Germany. So much to see, cultural and historical everywhere .

I was stationed there when I was in the Army. There was a bar called the "Green Goose." Bamberg is extremely beautiful year round. So many great memories you brought back, I would love to go there again.

The "Neptun-Brunnen" - which is translated to "Neptuns Fountain" - is among the townfolk called "der Gabelmoo" (Gabelmann bc Gabelmoo is the pronounciation in franconian dialect) - which is translated to "the Forkman" - which is of course related to the trident at the sculpture in the middle.

You made my day! 🤣😄 With your Rauschbier. A Rausch is an intoxication after taking drugs. But it was a Rauchbier, with ch. Rauch means smoke. And I suppose you were in the Schlenkerla, stress on the first syllable. Schlenkern is a kind of very relaxed movement which might be aroused in you if you drink too much wine or beer. And you shouldn't be vegetarian or someone who dislikes pork, when you taste the Franconian cuisine. 😬 Im not a big fan of pork, so I will not try a Schäufele or a pork knuckle. But I liked the Fränkisches Hochzeitsessen and the Sauerbraten, both made with beef roast, the former being called Tafelspitz and being cooked quite a while and served with a creamy sauce containing horse radish, the latter marinated sour with many spices and then served in a sauce containing ginger bread or raisins and almonds. Both go best with potatoe dumplings, red cabbage and Preiselbeeren (similar to cranberries). Bamberg is a beautiful city, I even bought a DVD with a guided tour along its highlights. Würzburg and Nürnberg are also worth a visit, beautiful cathedrales. Respect to your (oldest ?) daughter who let her hair cut. Very avant garde. 👍😀 It was quite common to wear a Bubikopf ... in former times, but for quite a while yet German girls wear their hair naturally, I.e. long and little make up. Here mainly girls with "Migrationshintergrund" make up their faces and dress up. No idea why... So I hope I will have a closer look on Annemarie in the next video to see how it fits her. 😊 I wish you all a pleasant journey!

In Bayern heißt schunkeln schenkerln?
@OnwardMJ2 жыл бұрын
Ach! I have to work on my pronunciation! Thank you for the correction, I definitely need those things pointed out to me. That Tafelspitz sounds delicious, I'll have to try it sometime. We did go to Würzburg and Nürnberg after Bamberg, so those videos will be coming in the next few weeks. It was our second daughter, Kira, that cut her hair short. She was ready for a change and just went for it! She loves it, and brushing her hair is a lot easier now! 😁

@@OnwardMJ Tafelspitz is best when eaten in Vienna/Austria...same goes for a real veal Schnitzel, I guess? ;-) Oh and there is this thing called Fiakergulasch in Vienna. You need to try this. A Fiaker is the horse carriage around Vienna and Gulasch is goulash. Thank me later for that food tip. ^^
@beatrixpastoors11042 жыл бұрын

I am so happy to see you all being so joyful and so grateful. And being so that really doubles your pleasure! Liebe Grüße aus Mittelfranken! btw Why the name "Schlenkerla"? I looked up the German Wiki: A master brewer of a former owner of the brewery had an accident and had to compensate the injuries of his legs by swinging (= schlenkern) his arms while he was walking. And so people called him "Schlenkerla" (= kleiner Schlenker = approx. swerve). Amazing, isn't it? LG 💙

Hi and thank you for this film about my home city! I‘m very proud of it and I‘m glad you liked it here. Btw, I once saw Schlenkerla Rauchbier in a pub in Philadelphia. I know that quite a lot of it is exported to the USA. Perhaps you can find it at your place, too…😉

Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ died on a cross for you because He loves you so much. He then rose up from the dead three days later. The Ten Commandments are called the moral law, (most of us are lying thieving blasphemous adulterer at heart and deserve hell) you and I broke the law, Jesus paid the fine. That’s what happened on that cross. By accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior and not just confessing your sin, but also repenting of all sin you have done and putting all your trust in Him in prayer, He will grant you everlasting life as a free gift.
