This is part 1 of our 10 Countries in 10 Days series. We traveled all over Europe, and Dublin was our first stop. Here is how we spend our one day in Dublin!

A perfect primmer and what NOT to do in Dublin, even in one day. Full day sightseeing after a trans Atlantic flight? Crazy. Guinness Storehouse? Tourist trap although most people seem to like it (Good marketing?!) Temple Bar. Another tourist trap. Loads of other better pubs to visit. Trinity Library - certainly, even if not that interested in the book of Kells. Getting there you passed the old Irish House of Lords. Passed up the two must interesting churches St. Patricks and Christ Church. Missed the glorious Georgian squares. You could have kept dry at the Hugh Lane Gallery a visit here to see the Francis Bacon studio is worth it in itself. You could have spent an afternoon at the National Gallery of Ireland. You could have kept dry at Chester Beatty Library one of the best museums in Dublin. Other places you missed: the spectacular Irish Museum of Modern Art housed in the former Royal Hospital; Kilmainham Jail near by; National Museum of Ireland Kildare St and another the former historical Collins Barracks; The Little Museum of Dublin; the spectacular Casino at Marino, the most beautiful Paladian building in Ireland; Dublin Castle; City Hall.
