I went to work at the sea port there from Phnom Penh at mid 1979 as I could speak English and French. I left the Sihanoukville by boat in late 1979. The city was like a ghost town but only government workers were allowed to live there I returned to visit my first trip in 2000 tried to search for my old friends but some of them already had passed away.
