16:50 Well, if you watch any of their older videos from 2011 to the start of 2013, for example the one direction Nickelodeon prank, you'd be amazed to see what you just said was quite the opposite at the time. Zayn used to be the prankster and partner in crime along with Louis and they shared such a really good bond. We can clearly see how both of them have matured a lot through the years.

Harry has ALWAYS had an amazing amount of natural charm and charisma. He's magnetic. It's undeniable. But I'd argue that you got Harry wrong. I don't think Harry feels he needs to be the center of attention. There are many, many interviews where Harry says little or nothing. He just sits back and observes. I would call Harry an introverted extrovert, which is what I am. If Harry has something to say, he says it. He doesn't just speak just to get attention. His behavior on stage is something separate. That's his entertainer side.

I think its interesting what you've said about Harry and Zayn being opposites personality wise. I find it interesting because i feel lt makes Louis relationship with these two so interesting , he had a really close bond with both of them and you would think that his personality would overshadow them but both Zayn and Harry have a way of bringing out a softer Louis. I actually feel like Louis is a social chameleon, and that he can literally make anyone feel like his best friend and this is what draws his fans to him. Louis has always been very protective of Harry and you can see it in the way he will often times deflect attention off of Harry in interviews. With Zayn ive always felt like he was the calm in the storm . Like the other boys are chaotic energy and Zayn was the balance and this is why I missed Zouis so much they really were partners in crime and they brought out the best characteristics in each other ,they balanced each other out. Even though I must admit that they were savage when they have a common enemy. I mean the twitter feud with the Wanted is epic and iconic. Louis relationship with Niall is that of an older brother who while taking the piss would absolutely destroy anyone who hurt him. But Lilo is my favorite friendship and its because their relationship is actually that of two brother and I love that they still support each other to this day Not to say that he other boys don't but Lilo will always save the day and cheer me up. But watching the dynamics change in interviews is both interesting and heartbreaking .I definitely look forward to seeing more.

Exactly. Like in other interviews when Harry is talking and Zayn is looking at the floor. Does that mean he lost his respect for him? NO. Zayn honestly just does whatever he wants, he can look distracted and still listen, or look the person in the eye and listen, or just not listen at all if he doesn’t feel like it. Especially when the questions are repetitive and he’s heard the answer a million times, no one would be offended if he’s not listening. They all have a respect for each other, I just don’t think this has anything to do with respect. Same with the other boys, they might not always be paying attention, or they might be listening just not looking at the person, or they might be looking. They do whatever the heck they want, but the end of the day they all have this respect for each other.

13:15 back then (and even now) Harry was the most popular and most interviewers would look at him while asking questions, even if he doesn’t answer them. It’s like the attention was given to Harry even if he didn’t want it. Louis, on the other hand, grabs the attention because of his playfulness, even if he doesn’t answer the questions, he manages to divert the attention towards him by being himself. A lot of those questions are repetitive, the boys definitely appreciate a change of subject and some banter.

Zayn was actually the prankster along with Louis most of the times. He seems reserved during interviews because he doesn't like the spotlight and also has talked about anxiety issues but when they're doing stage shows, when they were shooting the movie, the BTS, the prank wars, basically when theyre just left in their element, he's extremely goofy. You should react to those stuff too.

Zayn is the "mom" of the group, likes to be in his own company and speaks when he have something to say, he's also a joker when he's really comfortable with the people around him, he likes to do pranks and things like that Louis is the joker, loves to have fun and make jokes of people, he's also kinda the "leader" of the group in some ways, he likes to direct the attention to people, when an interviewer asks a question then he likes to just "Liam what do you think about that?" And really wants everyone to have a great time. He gets serious when he needs to Niall is the humble, normal and unproblematic lad, he doesn't need go pretend to be someone he's not, he likes to be just himself and thinks that it's important to laugh and smile, he thinks you'll have more fun in that way and that's why he laughs at everything. He also doesn't need to speak all the time, he speaks when he needs to and he likes to be friends with everyone and he's not so shy when it comes to meeting new people. Liam is the "dad" of the group is serious when he needs to and keep an eye of the other boys so they don't do anything they should but at the same time can be playful and funny Harry is the personality that likes to entertain the crowd, he loves to be around the guys and he's a real flirt, he also likes to be himself, no need to pretend to be someone else and doesn't really need to talk fast for people to listen, he also speaks when he has something to say and sometimes he doesn't need to answer and have all the attention on him

Louis was always the leader in the group. What you see as mucking about was him being the sheepdog. He. Was always in control of the interviews even if it looked like mayhem. Remember he came from a mixed family. He was the first his Mum married 3 times and had children in each marriage and all these children are very close. Louis is the oldest and loves all his family. That takes skill not to be the one who's left out. So don't ever doubt Louis. Louis does doubt himself though sometimes now that's sad

I love this guy, his analysis are always spot on! He also reacted to another interview (video diaries), it's a totally different dynamic bc it's from 2011, you should totally react to it as well (if you want)! 1) I love what you said at the beginning. Their humble personalities is what makes them so likable. People from the outside pov always say that it's all about their looks, which, okay, it probably helped them gain fans at first, but nobody STAYED for their looks. We genuinely care about them. 2) you should definitely watch more interviews, they're really entertaining haha, especially the ones from when they were younger! 3) Tbh I've never felt like Harry and Zayn were complete opposites. From an outsider pov they really are different, but they're also similar in some ways. That's what's funny about all of them, they all have distinct personalities but are also quite similar. That's mostly due to how the media portrays them, but Harry also has a more reserved side to him, and Zayn isn't as mysterious as they made him be (he said himself in an interview post 1d that management forced that image of "the mysterious guy" on him, just like they kinda gave each boy a specific image. Sadly that's how it works. And when you watch interviews from like 2010-2012, Zayn is much more energetic. Also, he was definitely not an outsider, he got along with all the guys, especially Liam and Louis! (and he could be quite the troublemaker when he wanted to be too - Zayn and Louis said several times they were like partners in crime). You just can't really see it here bc he was struggling mentally, at this time especially, and also didn't really wanna be there. But they do all love each other. I really really loved that video and hearing what you had to say about them! I really hope you'll react to the movie on your patreon when you have time, it's so worth it!

The thing about Zayn is, maybe not in public, but he does like being apart about the interaction. Especially with Louis. Him and Louis were partners in crime. They used to be the pranksters of the group, the troublemakers. They even bought a mystery machine together that they swore to never let any of the other boys into. A big reason he left the group was because of his anxiety and the public. He hasn’t done many concerts since he left the group and you won’t find many interviews or anything on him from 2016-2021 other than his albums and songs. The Harry thing, idk what happened with him and Harry and idk why he says now that he never talked to Harry whilst in the group because it looked like he used to find some sense of comfort in him before which makes it even sadder that they aren’t friends anymore in a obvious sense. Him and Niall are still friends and he said recently that he loves Niall’s music. Louis and him are on good terms but Louis said that he’s not mature enough to have a conversation about being friends yet with Zayn. Liam says he misses Zayn and stuff and that he loves him but they haven’t talked in a long time.

Ok I might have some things to add About Zayn performing live, he has done that 2 or 3 times but performing by himself makes him anxious so he decided not to (That's the main reason his labels is treating him like shit btw) The other thing I want to ad is that Harry was not the leader, the managment and lables wantes him to be the leader so they force him to be in that position on camera, but his actually really shy. In my opinion after 11 years in the fandom the leader was Louis in his own way, he was like some kind of glue to the band even though he was joking most of the time he was also making sure to make everyone feel included and that is why he plays with them and leads the interview atention betwen the different members. If you pay atention you might notice that even if he's the louder one he's not trying to get the atention

I think all the boys have great personalities it's just the way that they treat and deal with attention is different. I think in the beginning Louis felt kinda responsible to be loud and interesting and get attention because other boys were younger and in a way not so confident and they as a band needed attention to gain popularity with time going Harry learned how to deal with all the attention that always was put on him and it kinda allowed him to be more calm and confident and all the things we read as cool and personable All the other boys just were themselves didn't really asked for attention but was okay with it when the light was on them Louis kinda let Harry take the lead at least in terms of being the face and the voice of the band in public but remained this "glue" that made sure everyone felt included during interviews and ig behind the scenes as well and it how it went till pretty much hiatus with the exception of Zayn leaving due to anxiety. It ofc had to do with the dinamic within the group but I don't think they were on bad terms, just that Zayn was always put behind in the beginning (some say due to his "mysterious guiet" public image) so he kinda lost his confidence and stopped even trying to be active and "mysterious quiet" kinda became part of him. so this + ofc overworking developing ed and just uneasiness of life in 1d made him leave. and back to hiatus. afaik Louis and Niall wasn't really thrilled by the idea. but ig for different reasons. Louis was a big team player and he only back then started to gain confidence that he's good at it when bam band is "going on a break". He didn't even want to go solo just thought of sticking to songwriting but luckily his mum incouraged him(rip jay, miss you) and he eventually learned that people love him for him and not only his band Harry meanwhile is remaining his cool self, he wasn't really against hiatus ( they were overworked af and syco was a shit management in general) and excitedly makes his music Zayn is doing much better in terms of mental health but still doesn't want the attention as we all can see And Niall and Liam both learned how to be their full on self and to have the full on attention on them pretty effectively. They're confident and genuine A bit of a long ass comment but it's a whole ass presence analysis so yep.. thanks for your reaction

I agree with half of what Max is saying but all that Harry is Lord and everyone else being peasants is really gushy...... Clearly, the man is crushing super hard cos he's got no idea😂😂 Harry is the bunt of jokes when it comes to interviews .....he often says the most ridiculous things and the boys give him a good ribbing....especially Louis but when it gets too much and Harry starts to glare, Louis pulls them off him. There is no leader. However, stage thingys control falls to Liam, while off stage problems falls to Louis. Between LILO, things get ironed out with little friction.

I feel Harry was given the spotlight explicitly in most cases. Kinda annoyed me because directioners love all the boys! Not that I don’t like Harry (Heck yeah, I love him and seeing him on tour!). But I’ve always felt like Harry is a total introvert. He probably did learn well from Louis and after Zayn left, we could see a personality shift (maybe it was his way of dealing with Zayn’s departure)! Proud to see Harry now, a true showman! I just can’t shake the fact the Louis or Liam were the group leaders. There’s no video diaries without Tommo ❤️

Zayn and Louis were partners in crime. They used to pull all the pranks together and go wild and have fun. They were really good with each other because Louis would bring Zayn out of his shell, and Zayn would bring out Louis' more quiet side, so they balanced each other out. You can see at the end of the second interview Louis helps to include Zayn into the circle, by bringing up Zayn's cellphone since Zayn was probably too shy to mention it himself, and that effectively brought him into the conversation which was nice to see. I love that Louis really took care of all of the boys and made sure they all felt comfortable enough to express themselves. He makes sure everyone is engaged which is what actually makes him the leader. As the oldest, and as someone with many younger siblings he plays that role very well.

What I love about this is that the opinion about harry being the leader changed to louis looking like the one that the boys actually look up to. Of course they all have massive respect for each other but I cannot stress enough how much of an important figure louis has been for the boys. It really depends from interview to interview but after being in the fandom I can definetely see why louis could be the leader and how much the boys adore him.

Absolutely these guys don't know the story behind the boys enough and sometimes they get it so wrong but they don't knock them so I enjoy watching them. I love Harry but I get a bit bored of him being held up all the time. The other boys, especially Louis protected him and had to stand back while management put time into him but held the others back. There is so much more than the interview banter. They are bright brave boys all of them to survive it all and still keep their sense of humour. We are blessed to have them. Louis will always be the one I care for the most though.

I don't agree with niall not being confident and comfortable in early days. I feel like niall dint feel the need to speak unless asked or had something he really wanted to say. he's always been a quiet guy and just enjoying what's going on and really like living in the moment and just being very carefree. he's always been comfortable and confident but when he's solo now he's had to really show that side of his whereas he dint feel the need to earlier cause there were 4 other guys to lean on and he could chill.
