Also, he was correcting the timing and lyric mishap: Niall started a tad too early, and accidentally sang “pressing rewind”, which is part of the second verse. Liam did try to correct the timing as well, but he was singing “pressing rewind” too - part of his solo. And Zayn’s reaction, at least when Louis overpowers Liam when singing “by the fire too loud/oh my my they could never shut us down” is pretty clearly pleasantly shocked and a response to Louis, not Liam. He may have been *responding* to something Liam said, but his reaction was about Louis. He also carries the pre chorus (which he, Liam, and (I believe) Harry) usually sing by himself until Liam reorients himself.
