i rarely publish comments on youtube, but i feel the need to publish one underneath this music video. 12 year old me is grieving the news of liam's passing. i never thought i would experience seeing one of the boys on the news like that, especially in my 20s. i was coming out of surgery when i opened my phone for the first time to scroll through to pass time, instead i was brought upon the upsetting news. recently, i've been getting back into their music and i'm coming to a realization that i'm going back to my directioner roots. i carry so many good memories with their songs when i was a lot younger. i still wanted them to reunite, at least for one last time for all of us. never thought their reunion might possibly be at liam's funeral. 12 year old me inside me is... grieving heavily. she's very upset and wants to breakdown to the thought of everything that's happened on wednesday of liam's death. rest in peace liam payne, you were loved. you were so loved by so many. ♡

I first heard One Direction from "What Makes You Beautiful", and I loved that song. It was my song of 2012, and One Thing was my next favorite. I enjoyed their main hits like Live While We're Young, Story Of My Life, Steal My Girl, and Perfect, but I didn't really say I enjoyed them because they were a "boy band" and guys usually didn't like boy bands (and if you did, people would make fun of you.) I started getting back into them over the past year or two, and they're honestly so much better than people gave them credit for. They weren't just another generic boy band, they had something special. They were able to mix mainstream pop music with a more pop-rock sound. They not only had some good party songs, but they also had some genuinely emotional songs like Night Changes, Story Of My Life, and Fools Gold. They were one of the biggest bands in the world for about five years, and then they just faded away. I'd hoped they would get back together one day so I could have the chance to see them on tour, but now, there's no chance of that happening anymore. I'd like to thank Harry, Zayn, Louis, Liam, and Niall for giving us four great albums together. Even if things didn't turn out the way we hoped, I'm glad we got to experience their music. Boyzone have performed together and recorded together since the sad loss of Stephen Gateley, the latter even used some of Stephen's previous unused vocal recordings so that he was still a part of the project. And Girls Aloud have toured together again since the equally sad loss of Sarah Harding. The remaining four members of One Direction may very well still reunite one day for a tour or to make new recordings, and whilst it can never be quite the same again without Liam, it will still be worth looking forward to, if it happens, and the other four guys will need the fans behind them all the more if/when that day comes.
