I own several of the brands mentioned plus some others I’ve tried but hands down I always go to my Tom Ford platinum. I just love how pretty I feel when I wear it and how truly effortless it is. I even take a very small pencil brush and use it on lower lash line. LOVE this video- thanks for not giving up after your tech difficulties!

You would love the essence melted chrome eyeshadow. They have huge color payoff with a small pice tage. The cranberry, and neutral colors are all one and done shadows. They blend super easily and can be built up or applied sheerly.

My favorite one and done eyeshadow for years was MAC Antiqued. It’s so unique. It is on the darker side but I used to be able to just smoke that all over the lid, into the crease and on the bottom lash line and it’s just stunning! I never got more compliments on my eyes than when I wore Antiqued!

If you ever do a dupe of any of these, I just got the Charlotte Tilbury oyster pearl based on this recommendation and it is SO similar to maybelline color tattoo in high roller. I mean like 98% the same shade. High roller is just a TOUCH deeper, and oyster pearl is a teensy bit more warm.

For shadows and shades that were so similar, you described and demonstrated the subtle but distinct differences with each one. That was impressive. I liked the backdrop, too. It gives a subtle richness to the video. Most folks use white to off-white, which might be more difficult to properly light without washing out, and is a lot more boring. Also, you have lid space for days, so watching you apply the shades alone was worth tuning in to see.

You read my mind! Lately all I’ve been interested in is “one and done” shadows. (I’ve gotten quite a few from your recommendations). I’m an essential healthcare worker and usually pressed for time, so I’m always on the hunt for an easy, pretty/ beautiful one and done shadows. I have been looking for eyeshadow like this and I have ordered a couple online and the finish is never how I wanted them to be. Lost money doing this and I'm just starting to find a channel like yours that is similar to the way I do my makeup. Although I just tend to be more foundation free and just use a concealer with my similar skin tone to spot conceal. Love your videos!

I finally purchased Hourglass Smoked ...and omg how am I ever gonna wear anything else now? It’s like shiny taupe/silvery perfection, I love how fine the micro glitter particles are, and it’s such a sophisticated shade. You do such an amazing job explaining and describing the different nuances between shades/formulas ...something I find so extraordinary helpful, especially as I purchase online 99% of the time. I love wet, glowy, glossy & just shiny looking shades, guess it looks like ND topcoat in peach will be my next buy! Ooohh I need space cowboy too, pressed shadows with sheer bases are almost next to impossible to find, like extremely difficult ....lol

Thank you so much for such a detailed video on cream shadows. You introduced me to 3 new brands Bodyography, Danessa Myricks Colorfix (I really want to try those), and Rituelle de Filles (I also really want to try those as well) along with the online store Credo Beauty. I am a huge fan of easy look cream shadows. I have several NYX crayons which are a cream shadow in a stick, and I love how easy they are to use. I bought some of the darker NYX crayon colors to use for a quick smokey eye that is almost as quick as a one and done. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion as a primer so that the cream shadows don't crease or fade away in humid hot weather, then I swipe on the all over color. I then use the dark color to line around my eye and go in the crease. I usually only line the bottom half or the outer third. I love the daytime Keira Knightley style smokey eye. Sometimes I add a third complementary color on the center of my lids. The shade 609 French Frites is a dramatic gold shimmer that is the perfect center of the lid color that works with so many shades and colors. Sometimes when I want a more dramatic look than just a one and done I'll rub a little gold on the center of my lid after applying the all over color. It only takes a second but makes it look like you spent time doing your makeup. Nobody will know it took less than a minute. I am also a huge fan of Peach Snapple. I often add some water to mine because it's so strong and sweet. I still get the peachy taste while drinking more water. Win win.

I find that ritz has a deeper base colour. It’s more of a light cool toned brown. Space cowboy is definitely has a more “translucent” quality to it. The base colour is a true champagne.

I so agree with your one and done tude! I thought it was just me! 😊 I’m super done with powder shadows. I am into the creams either in pots or sticks because powders just get everywhere so I’m amazed that these are all creamy! I like to start with my foundation and you can’t if you use powder eye shadow. You have to do eyes first then clean the tops of your cheeks because, well there is powder on the cheeks!

I've been watching youtube beauty videos for YEARS (I'm 53) and the ONLY tutorial I've ever successfully followed was your eye look video you recently posted. I was like oh my gosh, this worked. Also, based on your recommendations bought the Tom Ford Platinum and the Rituelle Ash & Ember Eye soot for one-and-done eyes...AND bought the Shisheido Synchro Skin Foundation LOVE LOVE LOVE all of these products but watching you is getting expensive LOL! Love this, thanks for comparing Oyster Pearl to the TF, I have OP and always wondered if I needed both which it seems like I don’t. I use the CT cream pots with Tatcha’s primer on the lids and it wears all day, when I go to remove it at the end of the day I’m amazed at how good it still looks. I have normal skin on my lids though, so there’s that. How does Hourglass Smoke compare to Oyster Pearl color-wise? I’m trying to avoid buying similar colors because I always end up using one over another and I’m trying to downsize my collection. I’m looking for more of a greyish-taupe and I’m wondering if Smoke would work for that. Thanks for what you do!
