My right earlobe was always thicker than the left, but ever since I got them pierced my left ear has been perfectly fine and my right ear will just not stop leaking lymph fluid. It's becoming painful and swollen, and it's just driving me nuts

I got my second whole a week ago and one ear hurts really badly and the other doesn’t, the ear that’s hurts is the left side. I’ve been sleeping on my right side. I clean it everyday and try to keep my hair back most of the time. I do the same to both ears. I hurts so bad sometimes I can’t move my head . Should I be Worried and what should I do.

I have struggled so much with finding the right size and back for my helix. Finally just made a custom stud. I cut the post and Filed it the edges, then added a tiny rubber backing to cover the end of my piercing. Worked like a charm. I can sleep in peace, it doesn't snag on my curly hair and I can still sleep on my side and get little to no irritation, every night

I got my ears pierced and the day after it’s swollen alittle just where it’s pierced at does this mean it’s infected? There isn’t any pus blood and it doesn’t hurt.

No, you might’ve slept on it or it’s just irritated because it’s new. Just keep cleaning it twice a day and wash your hands before touching it. The same thing happened to me, it’s just irritated.

I have four piercings on each earlobe going up the ear and I’ve had them for. I don’t know how many years four years they’re completely healed, but all of a sudden in the last couple days, my highest piercing on my ear on the right side started getting irritated. I’m not sure why, they’re all the exact same earrings 10 or 14 karat gold. Why would only one ear piercing be an issue not any of the others on either ear and right now it’s just red and sore to the touch.

hey i have a question! i pierced my ears with a sewing needle back in august of last year. i had no problems with it, i kept it in and left it alone. after about 2 months i decided to take the studs out and i noticed that my piercing on my right ear had a bump on it. it kinda freaked it me out and i just massaged the area till the bump went away and put the earring back in. every now and then i’ll take out the earring and i’ll have the same bump, but i can only feel it when i take out the earring. do you have any idea what it could be and how i can fix it?

That's called a granuloma. It's best to leave the piercing alone because your immune system is fighting the piercing as it thinks it will harm the body. Use fucicort cream , it works for me

I got my cartilage pierced with a gun one month ago and I have no pain, I sleep on it, swelling went down, and I have no problems at all. I bought a new earring for when the piercing is healed. I looked at the earring I bought and it is a lot thicker then the original earring that is in my ear. What should I do for the thicker earring to fit without having to re pierce it myself?

I got my second lobe piercing about 10 years ago. I’ve never been able to wear earrings in the second hole because I get allergic reactions about 10 minutes after putting them in. However, I can wear those same earrings in the first lobe piercing without any issue/allergic reactions. I only have the reactions in the second hole. Does anyone else have this issue?

I’ve had my ear lobes pierced for years and just recently after wearing cheap earrings my right ear swelled up and became inflamed and painful. I think it was a reaction to the earring but I can’t figure out why it bothered only to one ear and not the other. Went back to wearing only hypoallergenic or surgical steel earrings

I got my ears pierced (second holes in lobes) a month ago. When the piercer did them, he started on my right, and it hurt pretty bad right away. The second one was a normal pinching pain. Not too bad. But my right one was throbbing for most of the day. The next day, my left one didn't hurt at all anymore, but my right was still sore. A month later, and my right one still feels sore. I've been washing them twice a day with a salt water soak, so I have no idea what is going on. Are some ears just more sensitive? Could he have hit a nerve in my ear or something?

I just got a new piercing and I had the same problem, I've just been putting it in a bobble at the back (I used the spiraly ones because they hold it better) and then using clips to hold the hair that's near the piercing so that it doesn't get in the way, I've just been sleeping like that and it's been okay

@The Piercing Outlet I slept on my earrings 🙃 🙄 and my left ear earring was slightly bent, I had to put a lil forced to get the earring out and a lil blood came out with the earring. Put some Claire's rappid ear cleaner on it - when I rubbed the piercing no blood came on the cotton ball. Im going to let my left ear breathe for about 3 hours and going to put another straight earring in. (Had my piercings in both ears for 2 years - first time this 'bent earring blood' thing happen) I guess I'm too lazy to take them out before I go to bed, now I am going to have to take them out before I go to bed👍🏿I have been sleeping with my earrings in for 2 years - I'm a man by the way, I hope my left ear is okay😇 If you see this any tips?

Would not recommend. Twisting and touching piercing introduces bacteria to the piercing site and it can get infected

I used the studex advance and changed mine after 3 weeks. One ear was still tender and decided to keep them in for longer and continued to clean them for a few more weeks with the solution.

It's been 10 months since I pierced my ears and they haven't healed yet :( probably bcs i kept removing them earlier this year ) but then I leave them alone for 4 to 5 weeks and theyre still painful.. :( .. I never had problems like infection on my right ear, (last time i had infections was on my left piercing) but now, my right ear is infected.. I did clean them with non iodized saline solution.. May I know what is wrong with my ears? :'(

I had my Helix pierced 4 days ago and it was all okay until yesturday, it hurt a bit and then I woke up and it was much more swollen and red, is it normal for it to be okay and then turn red and swollen after 3 days? Should I just keep cleaning it or is it the start of an infection, I had it done with a needle and it's my first piercing (well I had my lower lobes when I was little but I'm too young to remember, my mum said she just cleaned them and twisted and they're totally fine now) so what should I do/ is this normal?

its actually normal, mine is already less than a month but still swells and hurts often because i sleep on the side where i have the cartilage piercing and the cartilage heals different from the lobes. just regularly clean it and be very gentle so that you won’t hit it accidentally.
