For all the people saying they wish the bodies could be recovered - it's completely unethical to ask other people to risk their lives to bring a dead body back. In the death zone your body is actively dying. The clock is ticking. It's a superhuman physical and moral effort to rescue a living person from the death zone. Let alone a dead body.
@ANNEKE19993 ай бұрын
And I bet most people know that the death zone is - indeed - deadly. But wishing that these bodies were recovered doesn't mean it has to be done. I hope the same for the friends and families of the fallen but I would never ask a person to do so.

Unethical is leaving people on the summit of a mountain to die so you can bask In the glory of saying I climbed Everest. If there is a god he will be looking down on that and saying what a shame. @@robkemp091983 he describes the Death Zone on mount Everest pretty good and you still doesn’t want to understand. They dont leave people up there to die because of the fame but because they want to save their lives. Trying to save a Body from up there means Death for you to in most of the cases. Before you climb that mountain you will be trained and you know exactly what you have to do in all cases. They all know they risk their lives and are on their own as soon as they are in the Death Zone, before they start climbing. According to your theory, an entire group would always have to die because one person didn't make it.

I Ised to be so fascinated by the climbers of Everest, but tbh the more i learn about it in recent years the more i'm starting to dislike the achievement in it's form today. Everest isnt about exploration anymore. Its about personal ego. Thats fine, but there comes a point where the human cost starts to outweigh that, in my opinion. The base camps are getting more crowded every year. And the requirements to climb have also dramatically decreased in recent years, leading to novice climbers on the mountain. Then there's the sherpas. They guide every group of climbers, carry out the bulk of the rescue/recovery work, and maintain the routes. B/c of that they're the ones at the highest rislof death by far. (1/3 dead climbers are sherpas) Yet they never really get credit on these climbs, and used to go completely unnamed in the record. Even now the achievements only really go to the western climbers they guide. Idk, i just wonder if its time to put aside this cultural obsession with everest. [Edit] For the folks thinking im some casual complaining about a beloved sport, yes i'm casual climber, but I still tremendously respect the entire sport and the human drive to summit the earth's mountains. It's just the culture that's developed around Everest specifically that's puts a bad taste in my mouth.
@tatanka29254 ай бұрын
You're right..the Sherpas are the one risking their lives for each and every expedition...yet they're so underpaid..some contract must be signed between the tourist climbers and the Sherpas so that in every successful summit and extra/bonus should be given to them .. they're there for the money not for fame..this is how they support their family...I wish they could be paid more money ..🙏

Yup, only 330 people in the nearly 100 year history of expeditions on Everest. Your perception of Everest has been warped. Please do some reading on the subject. I'd also say it wouldn't hurt for you to do more research on this subject. Take your own advice on that. It's all well and good interjecting your view but your missing out big statistics here. Your making out in over 100 years only 330 people have died , why don't you answer how many people make it to camp 4 and out of those people how many have died. Since 1953 there have been 11,996 summits of Everest on all routes by 6,664 different people. Bare in mind that number includes the sherpa, one sherpa has summited Everest 27 times. Basically the total amount of people who have gone to Everest 1% have died 4% have summited those statistics are terrible... should we add how many people have lost fingers limbs etc, maybe include the people who get altitude sickness or snow blindness etc. Very few people leave that mountain in good condition.

Not long ago another mountaineer, an Indian man was rescued from the crevice that everyone thought was dead, but was found to be ( unexpectedly) breathing, alive ( even after 2 days unmoving in the crevice), just unconscious! He made it through , was lifted out to the hospital and is doing well! Took a while to regain his health, I think! @Victorseafog That's where you're wrong ... I was in RTC, and I had my NDE, which was a whole new experience. I was losing blood battling to free myself in the pitch darkness upside down in my car for a while. I couldn't see anything, not even anything close to me, I had to feel my surroundings with my right hand as my left hand and leg were damaged. My whole body was in pain and I was scared until I noticed a small pinpoint light in front of me it was bigger and bigger then it enveloped me I realised it looked like a tunnel of light blue/white cloud, I had a flash of my life before I drifted towards the light at the end of the tunnel. I had no pain and felt at ease, I thought this wasn't bad and continued travelling toward the light until I was stopped and immediately returned to my broken body because God said I had a second chance to finish my life before I was ready. My grandfather who passed 20+ years, was there with me until the Police discovered me. I know of God but was never a believer until that night that changed me. • It took me 30 years to find the right Christian church because so many were corporated, manipulative and corrupted as forewarned by God.

I don't think he cares about that now . When a person dies , he either "dies in Christ" or he "dies in his sin ." The first , puts you in the presence of Jesus Christ . The second puts you in hell temporarily, then it's on to the Lake of Fire forever . Revelation 20 : 11-15 I don't wish that on anyone , more importantly neither does the God who created those mountains . Where will you go when you die , heaven or hell ?

@@sheilagravely5621 it’s a matter of perspective, I almost died at a young age and it made me ask some tough questions. I gained a new perspective that our days are limited and some thing you have no control of can end it literally any day. So yeah it may seem stupid, but I say climb that mountain, take that dive into the deep water, go where the path is unknown because that’s where we find true life, where we challenge ourselves and renew our spirit. I’ve seen sights and wonders few people ever do, I could never imagine my life or faith without my adventures, the risks I’ve taken and the many times I’ve had a glance at the face of death. But it takes a pinch of “stupid” sometimes in life to truly understand how amazing of a creature you are and what you are capable of in the face of true adversity.
