Micheal robins played the old guy who dumped all the allotment dirt on Victor's garden, he was in a really big tv show in the 70s called on the buses, Eric idle who was testing the allotment soil was one of the monty pythons he also sang and Co wrote one foot in the grave song.

Ronnie & Reggie Kray (The Kray Brothers) were British Gangsters in the 1960s. Jeremy Beadle was a British Television & Radio Broadcaster in the 70s onwards,but very big in the 80s with his own TV prankster show. He was equally loved and hated for playing pranks on unsuspecting members of the public.

I was lucky enough to go and see one of the OFITG episodes being filmed, it was the one where the light dropped and landed on his crotch. The production team did amazingly because the audience had no idea it was part of the script, the reactions were true!

At 17:54 we see a former 1970s sitcom star in Britain, Michael Robbins, who starred as Arthur in the ITV sitcom On the Buses. Very sadly this was one of his last ever TV appearances as he died a year later in December 1992 from cancer. He was 62.

Jeremy Beadle had a Candid Camera type show in the 80s and 90s. Paul Daniels was Britain's most successful stage magician at the time, he had an enormously popular TV show. He was always the butt of jokes about cheesy television personalities. Whether Paul Daniels or Jeremy Beadle is the Hyde to the other's Jekyll is left ambiguous, but as it turned out neither of them ever hurt anybody. Victor saying Jeremy Beadle's show was "crap" is a Chekov's gun with a double meaning - one of Beadle's more famous pranks involved dumping a wagon of manure onto someone's front drive.

The two make a good comparison in another sense - while Paul Daniels was known for being a bubbly, family friendly, personality, there was the live Halloween special of his show where he ended it via faking an escape act gone wrong, meaning he faked his death on live television as a prank, in contrast to his more comedic, cheesy, entirely lacking in any sort of edge stage persona.

Jeremy Beadle was a TV presenter who used to play practical jokes on members of the public. He is also referenced in only fools and horses. In a later episode called The Dawn of Man you need to have seen 2001 a Space Odyssey to get the joke.

This is before (the rest of) series 3. There was no regular series in 1991, so this followed on from the 1990 Christmas episode..

@6:00 As a heads-up: Jeremy Beadle was this horrible UK TV presenter celebrity from the 80s. At one point in the late 80s he was all over television.
