This is from Edgar Froese and Paul Haslinger, better known as Tangerine Dream when the original came out in 1989. It comes from the Miracle Mile soundtrack.

I used to listen to this album when I was young in the early 90's. In 1991 I was in the vicinity of a large explosion of a fireworks plant and storage near Culemborg in the Netherlands. It was, and still remains, the loudest boom I have ever heard. As well as the biggest mushroom cloud I have seen. At that moment I did not know what was going on. But in the cacophony of different sirens of police, fire department and ambulances I remember hearing the melody of this song. I will never forget this melody.
