Mike Nesmith of the Monkees raced Baja offroad desert in the 70s and 80s. Class 8 Chevy squarebody stepwise pickup truck. Met him in Tech Inspection in Ensenada. Nice guy.

Very nice haul, good for the 2 of you. Heart sang barracuda Starting in 69 Plymouth had a sport trim package called just Cuda it was the high performance version of the barracuda and in 70 they changed the Body style. I love the early barracuda’s starting in 64 but my favorite body styles are the 70 and 71.

Hey Matthew, Hey Ruthie! Neat kits, you both got there. I noticed the new intro music, Matt. I like it, I think it fits very well. I recently did some channel rebranding of my own. When I get them in, I'll send you and Ruthie a sticker and maybe a kit. Keep on with that college, Ruthie. I also go Monday Tuesday and Thursday, but for aviation. We need a lot of good phlebotomists in this country. Have a good night, y'all, and hang in there, we'll get over this humidity eventually! Awesome gifted kits!! Growing up I did not like the first and second gen Firebirds but really liked the Camaros of that era. Odd thing is that the major styling differences were the front and rear fascias and some other subtle styling ques. Ruthie assisting you reminded me of Vanna White on the Wheel of Fortune!

Barris didn’t build the Monkeemobile. It was actually built by Dean Jeffries. I think George Barris bought the rights to the name at some point. Arctic Cat also had a snow dragster with a Ford Boss 302 called the “Boss Cat”

KZbin just discarded a long Datsun truck edit to my Nesmith comment. So I'm starting over. Nissan is the corporate name. Always was. Nissan translates to English as "The one who is Number 2". In Japanese culture, in all things, Number 1 is God. The best any human can achieve is Number 2. Thus Nissan means the best. When Nissan started exporting they were concerned that others, particularly Americans, would not understand this cultural aspect of their name and think less of them for being #2. So they went with a name that does not translate. Datsun. It has no other meaning. It is a name only. By 1980 they figured out that the Americans didn't care to translate Nissan so they dropped Datsun and went with Nissan. The 720 body is this angular style. 1979 US market trucks had "DATSUN" stamped in the tailgate. 1980s through 85s got "NISSAN" stamped tailgates. That Aoshima (accent on the 'o') kit is a lowered 4wd. Seems kinda strange, but I suppose they wanted fender flares over wider tires..Monogram also did a kit of the 720 4wd, sometimes released under the Revell name, but it's 1/24. The initial release came with decals to do the factory sponsoredBaja race team trucks. But aside from a street "show bar", it has no equipment to make it an offroad race truck.
