it took me a while, but now I'm addicted to this game.

Glad to hear that. It takes some time and persistence to get it going but I think it is worth it in the end.

I play Strat computer hockey. I wish I had the patience to learn and master these board game versions...but I don't. LOL

My wife just ordered me this for Christmas, LOL. Anyway, it seems more realistic from the standpoint of Faceoffs and possibly more intangibles. I have played only Strat Hockey, but this looks pretty good too. I love your videos, Dave! I can't wait to try it...And if I like the game, I will order the mat that you have listed on Facebook...

you know the apba hockey really looks to be way more difficult than the other two games. So many number checks. My head is spinning just trying to follow along.

Once you get the flow of the game it does get better.

@@daves1249 Yes, Dave, it does. I watched 3 of our videos. After taking 41 minutes to play a period, I was determined to learn the symbols. Last night, I played a period in 28 minutes. What I like about APBA hockey is the Face-Offs (18 in the 1st period in my game) and the extra events (Puck deflects into the crowd, etc.). I ordered your Jpeg APBA hockey rink from inked gaming. Once you learn the system, I do believe it plays faster. Also, I developed a scorepad with ODAI already calculated, HSF already calculated, Forecheck calculated, and clearing ratings calculated. Great videos.

Nice vid. I might have given an assist to Oshie for the first goal in this period.

do you roll one die or two dice on a blocked shot check ?

At 34:41 when checking the Save for Holtby , you rolled 36 but didn’t check T Holbty’s card . I do that all the time too when playing APBA soccer .

Good catch I completely missed that. I find that happens to me alot with APBA games. I get wrapped up in the action sometimes and take the die roll instead of the chart result. I also picked up at 4:05 on a die roll of 64 for an assist rating check of 32, I credited a shot on goal when it should have been just a completed pass. Sorry bout that!
