Darrell, you were instrumental (forgive the pun right) in me deciding to buy a Fender Squier Affinity SSS after 2 months of comparison videos. You're Affinity vs. Yamaha Pacifica I watched a dozen times and, finally got it. So some scammers using your icons and saying how I've been randomly selected for some BS prize , "Hit me up for the digit's" they say, clearly posing as you and, trying to scam your viewers by thanking them for watching and commenting right. So I'm going to report this one but, Beato and Rob Baker have done videos warning viewers not to interact with them. They say "I've got a guitar for you, pm me " and they claim if you pay the shipping they'll send you a guitar. Thought I'd mention it and, now I'm going to report them. I don't know if it'll do much good but, I've got the means so I'm responsible! I bought that Affinity back in September of 2020 and, ignorant as I was having always bought used I didn't realize it would need a setup. Still does so I don't even know how good a guitar it really is 😂 I'll let ya know when I get it setup properly. I managed to set the intonation myself but, the action is too high and the strings have all different tensions, no continuity across them so it's a drag but, it felt decent sort of until I intonated it. The shop I got it from will set it up, but I still have to arrange it. Long story. Anyway, thanks. I still watch and, I'm off to report this guy right now. 🎸🎶✌️

That's hysterical 😂 I'm pretty sure that guitar was designed for Batman! Alas, I spent $480.00 for my Fender Squier Affinity SSS and a Fender LT25 modeling amp, with a cord, gigbag, capo, strings, and picks and that was a major purchase for me 😂 Didn't even come with Allen wrenches! 😂. First world problems! The guitar and amp are fine, it needs a setup and, then it'll be fine I should say. 🤞

I remember my days as a product reviewer (computer components in the early 2000s). Publicists for the big manufacturers wouldn't explicitly say "You can keep this when you're done reviewing it." They'd just 'forget' to ask for it back. Most often, the component sent for review would some average update that you already had 10 of hanging around. But every so often, they'd send out a gem, a product of such value that you hope you never, ever, ever get that RMI sticker in the mail for the return. I mean, an Emerald Virtuo. . . even if they only gave me a 30 percent discount, I'd still call it my lucky day.

I appreciate the efforts of remaking the wheel. There's a few of these carbon-fiber hybrid smart-guitars that seem to have popped up all at once. This is definitely an elite member of that bunch. I don't know how convincing the top is in person but on video that's an amazing wood imitation, I'm very impressed by that. I don't like it one bit, personally, but I'm impressed by how real it looks on film, anyway. Sticking with my old Teles for now. Dumb-guitars the way Leo intended.

I’m pretty sure it’s a real wood veneer. I think they have a variety of veneers to choose from.
@stevefaure4152 жыл бұрын
@@JohnnyArtPavlou That makes sense if it's a veneer. I thought it was some kind of photo-finish or otherwise printed on the carbon fiber. So the impressive part I guess not as impressive.

@@stevefaure415 you’d rather a photo of wood than wood?
@mijwil2 жыл бұрын
Real wood veneers. I’ve owned 2 acoustics. You hand pick the veneer for the build if you are not going for all carbon fiber. Otherwise, you just pick the color of the Carbon fiber. These have their place. They won’t sound like the big names, but they are insanely well crafted and indestructible. If you travel, in harsh environment - these are a high end solution. Most stable guitar you will find. Emerald is a great company to work with.

What a total package (I mean the guitar). And with MIDI even so there is literally no instrument in the world this 6 string can't mimic. The piezo pickup seems quite nice, the unplugged acoustic is decent for a carbon fiber body... all they need is a mechanism to dampen the chamber a little and you could do some heavy rock on a loud stage.

I feel like it's a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. I think it's super cool, and if I had more money than I knew what to do with, I would pick one up and just to play around with it. As an acoustic guitar, it sounds like a cheap plastic toy guitar. I'm not dunking on it, I just feel like the Chinese copies of Gibson, Martin, and Taylor acoustic guitars, selling in the $250 to $350 range sound so much richer and fuller. Now they don't come with pickups so it's a different animal. I think most people would have a much better experience using just their favorite solid wood acoustic guitar, and get a Les Paul, Strat, or Tele style electric for everything else. Then you end up with no compromises and can get gorgeous tones out of each instrument.
