Why not just get a PTO powered transfer pump, and some more hoses. Stick the same hose into the remote pit, start the tractor, and pump it through a long hose into the other pit, then the tower.

Tom what you need is a pump agitator! Reason 1- when your spreading with the new tanker it will mix the slurry so it’s consistently smooth and not lumpy (especially for a dribble bar) 2- you can put the umbilical pipe on them so you could pump from that tank to the tower directly, we do it here in Ireland !! 😄🐮🇮🇪

I wish governments would offer up to cattle farms biodigesters to help deal with the waste in a productive way. All of that slurry is still energy rich and could be converted to methane for use as fuel for heating or for use in a fuelcell ...and, the process also deals with the smell.

It might be a good idea to fit a "T" piece between pump and tank, especially on that nice new tanker you are getting. Then get some extra hose so you can just pump straight from first pit into the second pit. Digging a new channel between pits would be an expensive and rather disruptive job as it would have to be pretty deep.

@@TomPembertonFarmLife Tom I don't think that would work seeing as you have a vacuum tanker a d you need to change over your pump from fill to empty. Only way to do that is with a mixer pump that has a top fill facility on it, then you could put a hose on the top of it and work away.

Would be fairly difficult to put a channel in as you would need a fairly deep channel to hold the water so it doesnt just flow over the opposite side or a very wide channel. My advice would be buy an older trip style agitator as very easy to hook on and off (should be able to buy them fairly cheap) one that you can put a pipe onto the top of it for transferring the slurry

The pit you are taking shitty water/slurry out of, if it's real thick at the bottom, have you tried sucking a load up, blowing it back in, 3-4 times to mix it all up? Also, cut a large V in the end of the pipe in the slurry so it can't stick to the bottom! But you prob know that I guess?

Would not be easier to have an over head trussing gpijg from that pit to the pimp pit that your filling now? Rather than digging down, you could have frames built overhead and then connect a downpipe into the pit with a small pump on it when you need to empty it..wpuld be a lot cheaper and you already have a similar structure going to the massive tank.
@hedydd2

Why not bury a six inch pipe under the concrete and pump it across from one pit to the other? A channel wouldn't work and it would reduce the capacity of the second pit. Ideally you would make one great big underground pit out of the two, but that would cost a lot more.

Omg I visited my mom in 🇬🇧 a years ago, took our girls for the first time. She lives in rural Cheshire, well of course it was muck spreading time. I've never laughed so hard in life. Both my girls walked out of my mom's house . The look on their faces ,was like🤢🤮🤢. They where in early 20's but lived the big city (Toronto) . They stopped a man on the street an ask him what that awful smell was. He said what smell ,they thought he was joking . When we met up with them we told it was the farmer muck spreading . We still laugh about it.
