Good finds, especially for mid February! Who'd of thunk?? Most of the pitted stones here in Ontario County are made from a hard red sandstone, they really loved that material, probably because of its grippy properties. So glad that you are putting out new videos, nice to see local ones. Always enjoy them.

Your phone does a great job. You know that you can get cases on Amazon that make your phone look and operate like an actual camera. Might be something to consider. Always great watching your videos my friend.

Thanks! My phone doesn't do too bad but I just got a new camcorder and I am learning how to use that in place of my old camcorder.

It sure is hard to keep a good site secret. I have always had exclusive permission to look there, but there are others that don't bother getting permission and that can ruin it for sure.

A bi pitted hammer stone ! Dang, didn't know they made them ! Ware can I get one !!! Lol, nice points also, I went out yesterday and today, came home with a crazy fossil, I have a few unique hammer stones, one is like a hand axe about 8 or 10 inches tall chipped out for fingers but not sharpened, and another one carved out of red granite places for your fingers pretty cool !! Well good luck out there, maybe we'll have more good weather to go more !

When I first started walking the fields in search of artifacts I used to find quite a few of those 2 pitted stones on each side, so I was really glad to find this one even though it was a bit worse for wear. I'm looking forward to Spring and getting back on the fields again!

Nice saves, yes I love arrowheads but sometimes them tools are better

I agree with you Calvin, finding arrowheads is really great but a hardstone tool really is special to find. A lot of those tools get overlooked by many arrowhead hunters as they are only looking for flint. Thanks for watching, I hope all is well with you!

I'll be darned and argh. The entire eastern border of my property, a mile long stretch is along a river. Had no idea those flat notched stones are net weights. I knew they were something but was always told they weren't by my dad and uncles.

Make sure those flat cobbles show some side notches, that will prove they were chipped and tied onto their nets. I have notched a few notched net weights on this field, so I will keep an eye out for more.
