I absolutely love this video. You did this franchise justice and that is a good thing. I have been a fan of this franchise for around a year now and it makes me happy whenever people acknowledge the existence of this franchise. Hope you have a wonderful day

1:44 I watched it and some of the problems I have of it is the portrayal of black people within it, the villains, and the ICPO ladies half-baked existence. Overall, the best part about it is everything that Lupin does, it's honestly solid gold Lupin material along with his main core cast. However, I would argue that there is not a single bad Lupin film, there are only subpar Lupin films and even then, they can have something special within them if people were to just look for them. Which, is practically the opposite of Disney, Dreamworks, and Warner Bros, if they make something bad, I wouldn't object to criticism of it, if they make a mixed bag, I'm going to try to argue that it's salvageable and serviceable as good entertainment, even if the entire entertainment industry is currently treating itself like a fast food restaurant that is trying to advertise everything it sells as 5 stars when in reality a lot of it can only really reach maybe 3 and a half if it is lucky enough to have an audience to click with. The gold among the dirt can compete with Lupin's dirt or even sometimes its gold. Lupin does too much right oftentimes so incidentally I am confident that most directors are onto something with him. Overall, Lupin is just a fundamentally better character than a lot of other stuff that I've seen, so even at his worst he's still enjoyable and at his best he really does slap. So, even if the Gold of Babylon has some poor parts to it the rest of it still works, especially its more fundamental aspects.

Don't misunderstand me i understand there are parts of the film that are... dated, to say the least, but I can't help but be drawn into the story it tells. It's goddamn hilarious and ridiculous at the same time, but buried underneath all that is what I find to be a truly fascinating story about legacy. Marciano, Rosetta and Lupin all got involved in the search for the gold by their ancestors, and it's not an exaggerated to say those ancestors trapped them, intentionally or not. Or almost all of them anyway. Lupin is able to break free of his grandfather's legacy by being his own man. One with friends, lovers, enemies, and talent all his own, and one willing to challenge the fated legacy of Rosetta, and come out on top of it in the end.

@@low-keyproductions1973 That is honestly a good perspective to have on the film, I would honestly like to keep this comment so that I can come back to the film itself sometime later to remake the whole thing. Maybe make a couple different versions of it in an attempt to make the best version of The Gold Of Babylon that I can possibly make with what this adventure provided.

I mean Lupin is a fundamentally a good character in the anime, I mean sure in a lot of the early Lupin anime he's somewhat grabby with girls but even that's vary toned down from how he was in manga aka "A somewhat insane dude who's extremely sexist towards women, has no meaning of sexual consent and has a kill count that rivals the number of chicks he's slept with" I mean yeah I get it the manga was written in the late 60s, times back then are way different to now days.
