That iron bridge reminds me of the 130 Boys Brigade campsite further down the river at these strange trees before the weir. 2,3 miles from Balfron Am I correct ...it was 46 years ago!

Cool video, is that a single Spey line.. looks effortless! Might invest in one… just wonder are they as good for overhead casting?

Yes Rio Trout Spey line for SH rod .... great line 22' head good for roll, spey and overhead cast. Remember to go down 3 weights for the SH Trout Spey line i.e. my SH rod is a 7wt and matched with 4wt Rio Trout Spey line. Great for small wee rivers.

Does that line come with tips? Is it you go up 3 sizes for a single hander? I had the rio single handed spey intouch line and it had wild memory in the head. How does that one perform?

No it does not come with tips but easily handles 5-10ft tips. You go "down" 3 weights from memory so my Rio Trout Spey line is a 4wt which matches my Sage X 7wt rod. I have not experienced any problems with line memory once line has been cast a few times. Hope this helps.

@@thedoggedangler Thanks for the reply. I do find Rio lines to be quite heavily weighted. I think lines maybe need a few days on the water to get any memory out completely. I just found that introuch coating on the SHS very strange, as couldn't get a stretch on it, to release any coiling.

Mark thanks, yes its a lovely wee river which is part of my local Lomond system. I need to fish it more! Relatively good season (for me) Chris but had to travel from home (Lomond) system. Had good season exploring other waters (N.Esk, Annan, N.West Highlands etc.). Hopefully you have had a good Season.

The Dogged Angler first season on the fly , always spun , but rule changes meant had to learn the fly, love it now got first salmon and sea trout same day on fly i also have to travel a long way so dont go much to the Tyne , still do well on my local river which is mainly large seatrout and the odd Salmon , but all on spinner , not good for fly
