This reflects God's boundless love for us, as he washed, sanctified, and justified us by giving himself.
This Loving God prunes us, but it seems painful.
John 15:2 and 8
[2] Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
[8] By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.
This highlights the beauty of the Father's pruning process. Its purpose is to produce more fruit, making us approved disciples of God and thus glorifying His name.
