I wish that One Life To Live hadn't been cancelled. This was one of the greatest soap operas of all time.

Meredith was always so beautiful. Was surprised when she got "killed off" the show.

@@chairmanmeow3693 I wondered if Lynn Benesch wanted off the show. She was great on OLTL. She died in the summer of 1973. I felt the same, but I did continue to watch when I could. 1974 and 1975 were very good years for the show, actually. But I always thought about how it would have been to still have her on the show. Of course, it opened up some storylines for Michael Storm(Larry).

I used to watch One Life To Live right before Dark Shadows

They actually were given a very good time slot being on before that popular show, "Dark Shadows".

I probably watched this episode 51 years ago this July. My sisters and I would watch it after school because at that time it came on at 3:30pm.

@@sonyab1974 Sadly no :( There is at least one episode--in colour!--from the first year that's available to view at the Paley Centre. Definitely tops on my list of places to visit next time I'm in NYC.

Yes, WOST closed while I was a teenager, but I found a way to save their videos and quickly, when the closing announcement was made, saved several dozen to CD-ROMs in .rm video format. I thought I had lost those discs, but just came across them the other day and had always wanted to re-watch this episode (the earliest full OLTL ep that seems to exist...) If only this episode had a glimpse of Gillian Spencer as Vicki (or Nicki who I think had "come out" by now...) I should go through and see what other WOST things I saved are the most rare (many of the other things have popped up on YT already). Glad you enjoyed!

OLTL broke alot of ground in it's time. It was the first soap to feature black characters. First soap with interracial relationship. It's heyday was the 1970s and 1980s
@EricMontreal226 ай бұрын
I disagree about the 1980s when I think it forgot all that, and went full on camp. Which was fun, but...

Great to see this. By the time my Internet connection was above the level of a tired snail, WOST had already mostly started making you pay so I rarely got to see anything. I can't remember if this one ever aired on Soapnet or if it's new to me. Either way it's such a wonderful gift to watch. Did you see the 1971 Judith Barcroft AMC promo or the 1973 OLTL closing credits on the Rick Thomas channel? If not I'm going to put the AMC one on my channel, at least.
@EricMontreal226 жыл бұрын
I saw the promo--I'll look for the closing credits. I'm pretty sure this one never aired on Soapnet, but it is the earliest full episode that pops up every so often among collectors... Yeah when WOST went pay I went and tried to save as many of their files as I could. A lot of them have shown up elsewhere (and were recorded form places like Soapnet so not all that obscure) but I didn't feel too bad for saving the files since I figured WOST didn't actually own the material anyway... (The AMC episodes I have up on my channel were similarly saved from the very short lived Agnes Nixon website...)

kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2GyqpmJqd-EhKc Did you ever get to see the Loving episodes that were up on a Santa Barbara channel that is now gone? If you didn't I will try to put them up (if the original uploader isn't on here now). They were a few from 92-93.
@EricMontreal226 жыл бұрын
No, but that woulda been around when I started watching Loving--so would love to see more from that era (I was 10 or so and hooked on All My Children and One Life--and then AMC had that crossover with Loving which made me a fan--I had never even *heard* of Loving before lol). There's frustrating little out there from Loving online it seems--the same episodes from 84, 89, that pilot movie, etc...
