Agreed ! Malone wanted to raise up the lords & lessen the bukes. I.e. breaking up Renee & Asa when asa was a total idiot being scammed by Blair no.1 b/c he suddenly wanted a baby. Having tina choose Cain over a returned cord. Yea right. Cord was the love of her life. The worst breaking up Clint & viki for that pompous snob sloan. I know he wanted to reignite the Dorian viki fiued make Victor a total monster but it wasn't worth it. At the end the biggest families were the lords bukes & cramers as every popular character & annoying ones all became lords & bukes. Rex Shane Natalie & David ugh. All bukes. I'd say in the end the lords were bigger w/ rh returning Irene manning tina lord plus all Victor Jr & Todd's kids jack starr Sam & Dani w/ tea & todd as moms to lords. Jesse & viki got closer to rhs todd. Anyway I'll never get the obsession w/ making max a buke. Renee julia & Gabrielle feeding this witch so much cash & jewelry just so Asa wouldn't get upset & al being raised a buke. Thank God viki said the only way to deal w/ a blackmailer is not to. Once they get one payment it never stops. Plus Asa already had a huge family. She kinda betrayed Asa by keeping up this lie. Asa would gave moved on. He loved max & al for like a year or so. Then they became enemies. Then Renee yet again when max & Blair scammed him in a lazy redux she lied again. I won't touch Ben as asas sin w/ Renee. She was incredibly honest about her past. I don't believe she would lie she gave up their son for adoption & never told him. Plus viki married him anyway. Ben was pretty much forgotten. Also if I were julia she should have blown the secret as it actually got gabs sent to prison by starting the money stealing from Carlo & julia wound up w/ less time w/ her only grandchild b/c Asa hated Gabrielle. Glad viki had some sense & was like enough stop dealing w/ a blackmailed as their b.s. never ends.

I was an avid ATWT watcher but then I decided to peek over one day at OLTL during this storyline. Even though OL was on a creative downturn at this time, the scene with Julia and DuAnn (lol) was so cool, especially with the fireworks going off during the struggle over the gun and the background music..

ATWT's background music compared to OLTL's in the 80's- early 90's was like apples and oranges. But OLTL was absolutely abysmal at this time. (Nothing like it's 85-89 and 93-95 years)

How couod that old woman be leeanne mom. The girl was 18 & duann looks like her grandma not mom. She was nuts she didn't even care that Carlo told her through Julia to get lost. She just called him a fool that would never have Renee's love. Lol. I think duann was worth it just to hear viki give that killer line " am I getting warmer duann honey " in that southern bit of twang from posh viki ! I loved it.

Duann was wicked she wasnt even scared of carlo hesser! John russell I was shocked popped up still in 92. That's actually how nora got to stay a permanent cast member he gave her a case in his firm to rep Marty for a crime.

She did. When Carlo found out she framed Renee, he set her up. No, she never saw Gabrielle onscreen ever again.

Paul Rauch was very tired he was such a hands on producer from 83 to 91. He did everything casting writing got those gorgeous location shoots sadly til gottlieb got there & hired Malone they were saved b/c of the lightning in a bottle gang rape story. Kevin had no buisness in that story but Todd & Marty were so new they needed Asa viki Clint bo & newbie fave Nora involved. Ironic as Todd would up taking over the show. Notice he should have been killed off several times Luna bashing his head in the much shorter & older bo getting the drop on him. Im sorry but how did bo string up a 6.1 24 year old 10 feet above to his fence. Todd even got bigger than everyone. The show couldn't believe its luck his last name was manning ! Of course Tina's moms maiden name. Anyway oltl was in the cellar once jake left taken hostage. Malone dream was to rise the sun on the lords & set it on the bukes. Hence viki w/ that loser sloan & tina w/ that loser Cain. Plus they had Asa dump his best wife Renee for gold Digger Blair b/c the old man wanted a new baby. I'm dyin to see the episode where Blair threw her birth controls at him as he was having a heart attack b/c she wanted him to drop dead so she got half his fortune. How Asa couod be that dumb to leave half a billion to Blair is beyond me. Oltl messed up royally letting Fiona go. Jdp wanted out & left & Andrea had to go b/c of her stalker. Nice job abc not Hiring her a bodyguard. I know everyone hated gottlieb & Malone but w/ Megan's death they went from 11th to 5th place. The last time they hit no 1 was during Megan's death & jake coming home. Sadly Robin returned to take Andreas place as the scapegoat. I couldn't believe Dorian was blamed for viki cheating. Viki was the worst matriarch. She never bothered w/ grandson duke until he returned as an adult. From 965 to 98 she only cared about Todd. Joey & kevin turned out to be losers. They added Natalie as tina. Think in no way was tina lord ever replaced.

@@nattyps3160 But, even by Erika Slezak’s admittance, PR destroyed the ethnic fabric of the show. He brutally fired Lillian Hayman, Ellen Holly, most of the actors that played the Woleks, Rileys, etc. The show really was tanking and though Karen Witter did a good job as Tina, she didn’t get along with a lot of the cast and left of her own accord never to return. Viki DID get an odd obsession with Todd. Very weird.

the departure started when Jensen left. After both Megan and Sarah died where they could never come back that was the end. The rape story in 93 was the last great storyline

@@zt1053 I disagree. I think the show’s last best story was all of Viki’s alters in 1995. Jensen Buchanan inquired about a return and was told a resounding NO! Grace Phillips just didn’t work out and they wanted to make it clear Sarah was def dead the second time. Jessica Tuck also made it clear she wanted Megan 1000 percent deceased.
