Mustard Pretzels
Ingredients:
6 cups small pretzels
3 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 Tablespoon butter
1/2 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a rimmed baking sheet.
In a large bowl, mix together the mustard, honey, vinegar, and dry mustard powder. Stir in the pretzels. Mix well.
Transfer the pretzels to the baking sheet using a slotted spoon (letting the excess mustard mixture drip off before transferring). You can drizzle any remaining mustard mixture over the pretzels once in the pan.
Spread the pretzels out into a single layer.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until the pretzels are lightly toasted.
Let the pretzels cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 7-10 days.

Tessie, my hubby Ken is a saver like you. Just awhile ago I told him most noodles don't expire. He liked hearing this. He loves pasta. He knows you give me such good tips. I have him going to food banks now. I am disabled and he is too. But he was able to do some work until October. Now he gets excited to get the food. We prayer over every bit and thank God for it. If you have stale chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, ect. Put them on a cookie sheet and into a 300 degree preheated oven for 10 tp 12 minutes. Stirring at least once to refresh them.

Oh you inspired me! I have multiple little packets of salad dressings from different trips to the food bank sitting in a plastic bag in my refrigerator.I'm going to go ahead and open them all put them in jars and use them to marinate different Meats for dinner exclamation mark doing it right now while I'm watching the rest of the video. I am amazed at how many people think a best buy date is an expiration date! Those pretzels look really good! I don't remember a time where our pretzels have even gotten stale. It is snowing here today so I am making comfort food. I have a porketta seasoned pork roast in the slow cooker with some carrots and gold potatoes. I will make some biscuits closer to supper time!

Tessie,as long as you can use it..use it. I put my noodles in fridge in Ziplock bags. It keeps any weevels& tiny bugs out..good for noodles to get them out of boxes.I put tice in freezer if i am not using it.😊 That looks great!👍😋

Good morning, Tessie. That box was filled with goodness and blessings! So many people I know just toss food once it's reached the "expiration date"; it's wonderful that you're teaching how to preserve and use it so it's not wasted. I so wish we had places where I live like those you mentioned.When I went to the grocery store yesterday, I saw so many sweet potatoes, for example, that they were just clearing out; and I know they just toss them. I wish there was a way for the food to be given to the community, but the stores are not allowed to do that (from what I've been told). Also, those pretzels looked delicious-saving that recipe to try!

I went to my local stop and shop and there was a guy with a van picking up foods from that grocery store for the food bank that would of been thrown away. It was mostly sweets by the look of it. Like cakes , pies and cookies. His van was FULL……..

I know you video ahead but, we used to shred wilting apples, skins included, then make apple bread using a zucchini bread recipie. As needed slice and dice pieces of peel, they help give structure to the bread. As needed for bread structure or the make enough volume of shreds, add shredded carrot. Optionslly, add the spIces used for apple pie filling. Or, use the spices for old school spice cake which generally include some ajjndpice or ground cloves.

Great video Tessie! Can I ask you how you find the places that give the food? I’m in Central Pa and would love to find these places. The food banks in my area have strict income requirements.
