We were called back to the same crystal pocket we were digging yesterday, because the pocket of world class quartz crystals went from epic, to OUT OF THIS WORLD. And the miners said we had to come back and see what they found. And they were not joking. the amazing quartz crystals coming of of this private dig site are beyond words. This pocket of crystals was estimated to hold over one million dollars worth of world class collector crystals. Appraised by the experts in the industry, not me
Huge thanks to @The Crystal Collector for inviting me out for this trip and @Avant Mining for hosting us at their amazing facility and mine sites.

Dan, you never fail to surprise me with your videos. I am 100% disabled after my last deployment and a stroke after returning home. I cannot get out and do these things anymore. Would love to visit that site, willing to even pay a fee to dig a few of those crystals. I do want one of those big ones for my display shelf. Thanks for another great video.

Man these are absolutely incredible museum quality pieces! What a dream being able to see such gorgeous pieces revealed from the earth! As a disabled mineralogy lover it's mostly a dream of mine to pull something like that myself haha, I can hardly get around my own backyard these days. The real tragedy imo is how I doubt most anyone could afford these lmao; I feel all you fellas deserve a freebee for helping pull so many out :P

I feel you every day is agony, it's even harder accepting limitations. I keep pushing my self to get a little adventure in here and there. just make time for stops and rest, some of my best finds are from my own yard 😅 but I still try to get to the river and let the wife and kids do the looking they grab whatever looks out of place. then I lose myself in the wonder of how they formed!

Loving this mini-series on the quartz, it's really inspiring and educational to see the wide variety of crystals, minerals, and other valuables you extract and collect! I was wondering, would it not be a little easier/more efficient an extraction of these crystals if you were to use water to wash away the clay between crystals and simultaneously rinse them to see their true form? Also, is the crystal more valuable if it is completely clear and glassy, or are they more valuable with phantoms, or sandy parts, or other inclusions?

This seems like a cool trip. I've enjoyed a few other vids from other creators. The one thing I really don't like is how everyone fixates on the price of each crystal. Everyone jokes about taking one they like or worried about dropping them. I don't know if that's the actual vibe going on out there but I sure hope everyone got to take some really nice crystals for free. These vids feel more like a commercial for their mine than anything else.

Yeah, honestly it saddens me knowing a lot of these pieces will either sit in a warehouse or only be affordable to those with a loooot of spare money because the mine owners won't share- especially since there's so much quartz in general! It can be argued it's the cost of labor to mine these out, and it being their livelihood to sell them because the mine price, but that doesn't mean it isn't disappointing! (not to mention a lot of value in crystals is highly inflated/made up if you get to the bottom of it all lmao. I hope the people digging actually got to take something for free)

You know Dan I am a big fan of your show. I like you and all your family, good people. But what me and a lot of other viewers don't understand since we've been hammered every day with this quartz crystal mining is the supposed millions of dollars that are being pulled out of the ground by a couple of people here with a track hole on a daily basis, how can these basically low life quartz crystals be worth the hundreds of thousands of dollars or the millions of dollars that these videos are climbing? Quartz is very abundant and just left laying on the ground everywhere in some places in other countries including the United States. What and how makes this so valuable all of a sudden. I know quartz is used in the faces of watches and in the mechanism for keeping time but only a small sliver, but I can count on one hand the number people I know that we're watches these days. I thought diamonds and gold and other show called precious minerals or what were worth a lot of money? Is it all a lie, because all minerals no matter how low they are on the popularity scale all of a sudden seem to be worth millions and millions of dollars out of nowhere. Just for example, the diamond industry. Advertise for their rare beauty when actually they are so freaking many that they are in everything, from rings to drill bits to who knows what. And have you ever seen a jewelry store that you walk by they didn't have a sale going on? And now they make them by the boatloads and labs artificially on top of what they find naturally. Everyone is starting to see that anything to do with shiny objects is all artificial value. People have been lied to about so many things all in the name of the dollar bill and none of it is important. 🤔

No, it is not worth anywhere near a million. I hate the fake marketing strategies some use in the mineral business, like making over the top "estimated values" to try and jack up the prices. I live in Montreal, some of the mineral specimens from Mont St. Hilaire, that the big dealers give ridiculous prices such as 45k, at Tucson, I can buy , a couple of hundred dollars at the local gem show... The other annoying marketing strategy, a few are trying to do is to give names to their specimens, thinking it will brand the piece. When they do that it becomes "cringe worthy", and often buyers will tell them that.

I personally am not a fan of the recent run of these crystal videos and seeing so many discovered doesn’t seem to indicate any kind of rarity in them to fetch any sort of high market value, if anything the market is likely being flooded with them if they are that ripe for the picking. If gold wasn’t rare it wouldn’t have much value and would just be an alloy for something else more rare and precious or it would be used as the primary metal for all our household items and the made in China dollar store items. I just don’t see the appeal and all the fuss about harvesting something that seems so plentiful, and don’t understand why it’s so valuable.
@craftsmanwoodturner
@craftsmanwoodturner 2 жыл бұрын
There's nearly 8 billion people on the planet. If only 0.1% of us (1 in a thousand) want to buy a big crystal, that's 8 million big crystals. In the video, they unearthed maybe 10 or 20 of the really big ones. I think they made it plain that this was a highly unusual day, so they're not getting ones like that every day. Those 8 million people will bid up the price for the few big crystals available, so yes, they will likely be really valuable.

@@craftsmanwoodturner respectively speaking here, I would dare say that far less than 1 in a thousand would be interested in purchasing an expensive crystal, especially in our current economy. The only crystals that appear to be trending or even remotely mainstream are the gimmicky, healing crystals and those are $5-$100 depending on the craft idea that the crystals are incorporated with. I am likely being narrow minded because I don’t have any interest in crystals, gemstones, etc, therefore it just may be difficult for me to understand the appeal. But you can’t deny that something doesn’t seem rare when it’s being harvested out of the earth like a seasonal vegetable crop.

Crystals are admired first and foremost for aesthetic beauty, and sometimes it's not some people's jam and that's fine! With crystals like these it's less about amount and more about how hard it is to get to and finding something that fits the quality scale that makes it 'rare'- i.e. finding pieces that aren't damaged, the way they grew, and how 'quality' they are- they care more about how dazzling people see them visually. It's like a lottery of nature harboring the right conditions to make them 'valuable' because the shape and formation is what can be rare; certain types of growing rates, conditions, inclusions etc. are the rarity factor- but not always! long story short, it's mostly a perceived value over actual 'rarity'- there's hardly any real rarity with a lot of materials when you get to the bottom of it, it's just hard to get to it which makes it expensive. That being said, imo the amount or lack thereof isn't what makes something special, it's the unique qualities of every piece; scarcity is often manufactured for most materials anyways!

1 million dollar pocket? Not even close. Until they are done with the lies I will keep telling the truth. Those crystals are NOT worth $50-100,000. They go for what ppl will pay for them. They are not rare but the land they are on is rare because it’s owned by people that sometimes do not mine for this 247. Similar crystals are a few hundred dollars for the huge ones seen in this video

It was fun watching you all get high on rock crystal. Absolutely fabulous pieces. I had a client that had a 4" by 8" by 5" quartz crystal. Inside the clear was a castle like inclusion including a winding path up to the castle. The most fascinating rock I ever was given the privilege to hold..
