“Stop hyperextending” what if someone has EDS and their body just takes to that position naturally???
@dreamervanroom3 жыл бұрын
The same advice for them. People with the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome are generally characterized by joint hypermobility (joints that stretch further than normal), skin hyperextensibility (skin that can be stretched further than normal), and tissue fragility. As the person learns to actively correct her-himself the negative affects resulting from the disorder, over the years, will be lessened. Gravity works with everyone. (I am a fan of "Upright Health".)

My guess would be light to moderate weight training so that your muscles can compensate for any weaknesses in your connective tissue.

Then you can't stop the eventual negative effects. Maybe you can with attention. You might want to think of it as STARTING to control the position of your body. I bet you do that already from time to time.

"Awareness makes the change." Pay attention and keep correcting yourself. Doing Tai Chi -> in a form that pays attention to the connection between your pelvis (dan tien) knees feet earth connection (sung) would be helpful. I take classes with The School of Tai Chi Chuan. It is based in New York and, at the moment 2020, Zooms worldwide. www.taichichuan.org/

The thing is, if you’re a ballerina or something, you actually WANT to have hyperextension, soo I don’t know now. I mean it’s really common anyway.

You probably won't until you're about my age and you realize all the problems could be because of that. I was looking at another video I was talking about strengthening your hip, knee, and back muscles. When I was younger I didn't think there was anything wrong with it but my knee pain won't go away. I've had issues with it since I was seven. So much fun Good luck hopefully you'll get it figured out or you'll be in pain like the rest of us old people in the comment section😂 which I don't think I'm that old but I'm a lot older than you are.

@@Mr.Elf_T4YT for sure the amount of stretching and strengthening your muscles will have a lot to do with it.
