Sekrenyi is meant to be celebrated only by those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their lord and saviour. A Hindu will celebrate Diwali,a Muslim Ramadan and a Christian, Christmas. Sekrenyi,Tuluni,Moatsu etc are festivals, celebrated during those days when our fore fathers practiced animism.

In the name of preserving,we are actually taking part in the festival and it's rituals and I don't think it will ever please the one true living God. In the ten commandments, it is very clearly mentioned that, " thou shall have no other Gods than me, whether up in the sky,on the land or under the water,for i m a jealous God,punishing those who don't love me for thousands of generations but blessings for those who keep my commandments,they will eat the best of the fruit that the land produces". Me being born a Naga doesn't mean that I am supposed to take part in my forefathers animism rituals/festivals. A Hindu who is converted into Christianity will never go back and celebrate Diwali or Holi in the name of tradition or culture. A true Christian will always consider Jesus Christ as his tradition and culture. 'Nehemiah' comes first before 'Naga',if you get what I am saying

Yes I agree 💯 Iam against animism. "A Hindu convert never goes to Durga Puja" after he becomes a Christian. But we naga Christians revive it in the name of culture whereas we are sinning in the sight of God . All these festivals of animism brings curse . Not forgetting even hornbill festival where rice beer and all sorts of alcohol are served openly. Nagaland for Christ and dry State is an irony when we do all these activities. So let's repent.
