Thomas. I always prefer these types of videos to the ones with more production. They always seem to me more "real". Nice work.

That second shot looked like an oil painting. I honestly would have found it hard to believe it was a photograph, had I not seen you on location! What an incredible light, combined with the way the snow had "painted" the trees from one side. A rare and very pleasing scene.
@boscomac24344 жыл бұрын
The image of the horses at 16:15 is epic! I can visualize a cropped version that captures the lower portion and emphasizes the horses and their breath. Good shooting! 👍👍👍

Thomas, When I decided to really get into photography 18 months or so ago your channel was the first I came across and have been with you since. For me it was the photography, not the B-roll, that drew me in and has kept me. I have to say that whilst I know many like the recent B-roll upgrades (and I can see why you did it as a business thing) I do think it's detracted from some of the photography SO personally I enjoyed this episode more than any for some time (with the possible exception of the f4 antics episodes!). I don't think it a co-incidence that you seemed more energised being a photographer rather than a film maker! More of this type of vlog please.

Wow! Just WOW! What stunning conditions and location. Beautiful captures also! I learned years ago as a landscape photographer that getting the "image" was sometimes a bonus- that just being there to witness (call it a religious experience/kid in a candy store moment/personal revelation or whatever) was the real reward. Sure - its the goal to bag the trophy shots but being excited about your surroundings and what you are privileged to see grows your character and your craft. Great job Thomas.

Beautiful images. 7.48 I didn't think was too cluttered. It was a very interesting shot compared to an isolated tree. Both work. Magic with those horses.

One of the most relatable and enjoyable videos you’ve done. I would venture to say that this is how the majority of your viewers shoots. That is, get a late start, get excited about the light, and then start shooting comps that look good. I sensed that excitement that most of us experience when conditions are good and don’t have to think about much more than setting up the tripod and making the image. Well done Thomas!

I'm really enjoying the f/1.4 lens and the effect on the M50. Maybe it's the softness of the background, maybe it was just a beautiful day, but it's a spectacular effect. I also appreciate that you're keeping your SS consistent. Very beautiful. I love the horse photo. What a neat treat for you.

Hey Thomas! Thoroughly enjoyed this video, felt a little more rustic and you came across as really excited, especially when the wild horses made an appearance. Your second image was my favourite, thanks for sharing.

Tom--thoroughly enjoyed today's video. Perhaps I satisfy too easily but your first two images were wonderful with the second resembling a painting. The shot of the horses reminds us of the definition of serendipity (right place at the right time) and the tree at end was a fitting end. Four images from one day in the snow made my day. Others, too!
@ReviloR914 жыл бұрын
Thomas, the new 1,4 lens on the m50 is pure gold. The bokeh from that lens is just buttery smooth and makes a huge difference in the quality of the videos 👌

You can also keep your tripod from shaking in the wind. by placing a weight in that tripod basket. rocks, sand, extra equipment. Read in a book about 25 years ago to always get a tripod with a hook on the bottom for same purpose.

That shot of the horse's, there is houses in the background, if you could Google Earth that, find out the address, write to them and link to a site where they can see a preview and perhaps buy a canvass print or big poster of it, who wouldn't want an image like that of your own house looking soo beautiful with a rare conditions of horse and weather coming together, well worth a try!

Argh. I'm so jealous! I had the day off so started early this morning for Braemar hoping to shoot some trees before the snow melted. Snow didn't melt it got heavier. Got within 15 miles and got stuck in it! After three attempts had to come home mostly in heavy rain. Five hours driving for nothing but a pot noodle in a lay-by. Back at home I make myself a coffee, turn on the TV and there is Heaton snapping away in the snow!!!! Ho hum. Another time.
