You seemed surprised by the amount. I am the same way.. I don't really know how much we spend a month but I think I have an idea. It would be interesting to see how much it actually is, though. This is inspiring me to just keep those receipts and add them all up! We are a family of eight - soon to be nine, too. ❤

This was fun!!! I sometimes feel guilty that we're not rigid budgeters, so it's nice to see someone else who basically does the same as us 😁 Now you've got me planning to keep track for a month and see what I spend! We do have 2 fridges, our house came with an old one that we decided to keep in the laundry room and use till it died. Well, we've gone through 2 second hand fridges and now have a brand new one in our kitchen, but the old laundry room fridge is still kicking! 😂 It's probably not very energy efficient, but it keeps food cold!
@dougzwife4 жыл бұрын
😂 So funny about your fridge! We had 2 chest freezers and we recently gave our old small chest freezer away because I wanted to get an upright instead. I love my upright, but nervous about new appliances...the old ones last!...and last. lol. Be sure to come back and tell me how much you guys spent in a month! I know I spend more some months. I didn't buy much meat this time.

Nice!! We budget $900/mo for groceries for our family of 7. I’m trying to incorporate more organic, and most of our meals are made from scratch as well. Meat is always a good portion of it. I also shop in bulk but since moving, there is an Aldi close by and I’d like to shop there a bit more because I know they have really good prices. Also, I agree with the second fridge. I have an additional freezer in my garage, but a second fridge would be incredibly helpful.

I really should do an updated version of this one because I feel like prices in the grocery store today are going UP, don't you? As for meat, we have a dairy farm in the family so we are blessed with as much beef as we need. I'm surprised it wasn't more than that, especially adding the extra for a party and the bulk stuff from Shipshewana! I think yours would be a lot more if you had to buy more meat though. We usually spend about $125-$150 per week but in January and February we tried to do the whole family on grain-free, all healthy everything and it went up almost double! 😭 So I had to scale back, which was a bummer when everyone was doing really well and actually saying they liked how it made them feel. :(
