Yes thats right, karaoke goes on for hours and hours. They pick any song but for these mic challenges, they like to choose difficult songs so they can have more fun when someone has a hard time hitting the notes 😆. They choose songs like LISTEN by Beyonce, Through The Fire by Chaka Khan or That's What Friends Are For. Girls, it's been awhile since u reacted to Gigi De Lana. Pls chk out her cover of LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE (Eminem, Rihanna). Gigi Vibes just finished their 12 city US & Canada tour. I saw them in New York & they were on 🔥!

Even in malls,Terminals,Restaurants,Markets,Ships,Bus and etc.There are karaoke machines everywhere. Singing is just a part of our daily lives. When we were just a child we were taught how to sing. It's normal here in the Philippines. Singing is part of our daily lives and also part of our customs and tradition. From fiesta, wedding, baptismal, family gathering, and even in wake of someone's dead relatives or friends, we always incorporate singing to relieve stress, console, and enjoy.

If it's a difficult song like Mariah's, Celine, Whitney, etc... most probably each Filipino knows the song by heart. Karaoke is a singing contest for us. You don't karaoke to sing an easy or nonchalant song. We go for bigger and higher notes if it's karaoke time.

All over the Philippines, there are small family-owned resorts that are rented out to the public; such resorts have swimming pools (1 for adults & 1 for kids), table tennis, billiard table, dart board, soccer table, and of course karaoke (alternatively called "videoke"). A resort has a huge house, additional structures for sleeping areas, dining areas, and numerous bathrooms, which can accommodate up to 100 persons. There are places (most numerous are in Pansol, Los Baños, and Calamba in the Laguna Province - in these places, the huge houses are of high-quality) where swimming pools have hot and cold sections; hot water continuously flows from natural hot springs nearby; people can swim in the pools even during wee hours of the morning during the cold season. There are several such mini resorts within a huge street block.

Hmmm its not pronounced as "ka-rio-ki" but as ka-ra-oke. It was originally called "sing-along". Then the japanese pirated it from the Filipino inventkr Mr del Rosario. The japanese renamed it "karaoke". Yamaha then manufactured the karaoke device.

We are from a poor country. With all the hardships and challenges in life, singing is one ways for us to be happy and forget our problems for a moment. It's also good way to bond with relatives and friends. Even if you can't sing for shit, you are welcome to sing and no one will judge you. Everyone will just smile and laugh with you (specially when everybody is drunk) and it's just makes the experience unforgettable and makes you smile when you look back at it.😊
