I've heard that George Benson got the idea for singing and playing unison lines from Toots' whistling/guitar unison lines. I like this version of Bluesette, but prefer the one he does on mouth harp as a duet with Stevie Wonder.

The bassist Slam Stewart used to scat and solo...maybe that's where George was inspired. Slam, in turn, heard a classical player do that.
