I've got a '63 New Yorker in Oyster Blue Pearl. One of the best bass drums I've played. I almost didn't buy the kit because of the 12" depth - however it is very quick, very punchy and has just the right amount of boom and it hits you right in the chest.

Great finish. Reminds me of the late '70s / early '80s "banded" style white marine pearl Ludwig used for a while (see Buddy's last few Ludwig kits for example)

Not to mention that if the drum in the case, or out and takes a direct hit on the "Atlas" mount, the shell will crack/splinter for sure since it (Atlas) protrudes from the shell about 2" or so. Who' s idea was that !

Great sounding kit! Quick question Steve, with the Atlas arch, you said the 22 wouldn't fit in a drum bag. Is that due to the rail or the atlas lugs? I have that system, not installed on a vintage bass drum and just curious as it looks you can take the rail off for it to fit in a bag or case.

Even the brackets that replace the lugs are so bulky that they typically need a bigger bag. Same for the floor tom. Just too tight.
