One of Bangkoks newest Rooftop Bars (Soi 11)

Some six months after our wedding we eventually managed to get a couple of days away for our Honeymoon. On our second night in Bangkok we visited Pastel Rooftop Bar and Dining. We leave our hotel, the Okura Prestige by Tuk Tuk to Soi 11.
Apologies for the absence of videos from this channel, but Nong has been working non stop since November last year.

Hi Dave and nong , it’s great to see that you have some relaxing time ,i last stayed in central bangkok in the baiyoke sky hotel about 18 months ago , I hope that you enjoyed your visit , but it looks very expensive now, , I visited Thailand in February and march this year for 24 days and travelled via Abu Dhabi , a loverly airport but I wanted a beer , £ 14 U.K. pounds for 1 beer , wow , too much for me

For sure some of the beer prices around the world are crazy. I'm sure there are cheaper places in Bangkok, but not in this area of town 🤣🤣

Haven't been to Pastel, but I have been to Above Eleven just up the block. It's on the 33rd floor and you can sit at a rather large bar as well as one of the table along the edge of the place. I've been staying on Soi 11 post Covid when in Bangkok as it is a great location between Nana and Soi Cowboy.

Yes we normally do above 11, For me I prefer it, but Nong loved the vibe at Pastel 🙏🙏

Hi David, have you tried "Jasmin's Café" on Central Pattaya Road, near towrds the beach. The reviews have been excellent. BTW I enjoy your foodie videos. I have watched them all and will go to as many as I can (especially in Jomtien and Pratanmack) when I visit Pattaya this June. Thank you for your excellent work.

I always stay at the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11 when in Bangkok and been to Pastel many times. It’s a great restaurant and bar. I was there just before NYE 2023 and they had a guy dressed as Batman drive a motorbike through the centre of the restaurant 😂😂 I’m back to Aira on 16th May and already booked a table at Pastel for that night. Hopefully I can find a date to take with me 555 and I agree, pool tables in Hillary 3 are top notch. I drink and eat in Mullis a lot as well, great Irish sports bar at the Aira. Glad you both had a good time

Red Sky rooftop bar was an eye watering experience hahaha 🤑 We are heading back to Pattaya soon. Hope to catch up with you this time round, just missed catching up with you before xmas. 600cc bottle Grey Goose 59,900 baht. ? 1500 euros not even 1 litre bottle. and outdoor swelter seating. Soi 11 is NOT a local upscale street but popular for tourists and can be very pricey relative to BKK standard

In regards to drinks prices Bangkok is as cheap as chips even in the flash places, take Nong for a night on the cocktails around Central London or Glasgow centre one of the nights in comparison and you’ll need a lie down afterwards after checking your bank balance, enjoyed the vid!

So is Nong is still one person short for the shop ? Apparently not easy to find someone qualified . If I hear all these girlstories in the bars they all want either to become a hairdresser or streetfoodvendor or do make-up ...though most stay in that dream. You both must be very glad to finally have this honeymoon . Enjoy it

She managed to find a lady, who, after 3 weeks felt the job was too hard. She did get someone new, who she has had to train up, but she can't do 100% of the work involved. She actually went sick on the last day of our holiday 🙏🙏

@@DavidAndNong Bummer that is . I remember one lady about mid March that was busy learning. Apparently not easy to find someone either qualified or up to it . Had as a teamleader often the same problem : teachin' someone as much as possible and in the mean time your own work is hampered and then they find it too hard or are lazy . That puts a lot of pressure on you , and this now goin' on since when ...january ...that's a lot to take in. Hope she finally finds someone so you can have more quality time together . 🙏
