He was one of the most prolific artists of the Last century. Very hard working, incredibly productive and focused human being. I don't get why people comment in such a superficial and immature way here...you don't need to like him to be friends, nobody needs to be perfect. Karl Lagerfeld loved what he did and did stick to his choices every day, that even is hard to find in an artist. If people just have negative words for him they should look at themselves first. My opinion.

He is racist and misogynist, it's simple
@janahcoaching5 жыл бұрын
@@ehart270 Where do you get that from? Karl loved and respected women and worked with people of all different backgrounds, he was honest and straight foreward. Making the observation (to pick one) that in the 50s Paris was very different than today and you did not see people wearing a burka on the street, is just obvious to everyone who has been there. What has he to do with racism? Today people call everything "racism".

@@janahcoaching karl lagerfeld was a great and inspiring designer but he was also a man who shamed women for her bodies. look it up, there are quotes of him that prove it.
@janahcoaching5 жыл бұрын
@@adrienne2618 I know what U mean. I'm German so I also have heard his famous quotes in his native language. As far as I heard and saw, he always talked without caring about what is politically correct, so people got offended often. Just an example he said that he does photograph "dreams, not nightmares", answering to the stupid and always asked question, "why do you not take pics of big/fat women?". Obviously, Karl never just gave a nice answer people liked to hear, so he just said it. And he said about himself and people in general, that keeping a healthy weight and size to fit into clothing, was healthier than just getting everything custom made, so you can get bigger and bigger and denying your overweight condition (he knew from experience). I don't care of he said things that sound hard or just too honest for people, who's hobby seems to be getting offended...you know what I mean? He also said Heidi Klum was too heavy and not tall enough for high fashion runway, sounds bad, but like it or not, at the time she was too curvy and not tall enough for most designers. He wasn't always super pleasing or nice, but I found him quite refreshing, even disagreeing on some of his comments.
