I have a confession to make. Years ago I was sitting in traffic smoking a joint when this song came on. Right when it started a hearse with a funeral procession came around the corner and drove by. It almost like slow motion too. I was thinking "damn, that person is getting the coolest send off ever and they don't even know it". Always been one of my favorites because of that

Amen brother! I've asked my family to play this song at my funeral. No other songs. Just this one. This song sums it up in a nutshell. You believe in Jesus, you accept Him, then yes you never sinned because all of your sins are forgiven and your reward is Heaven - the Spirit in the Sky! I loved you review of this incredible iconic song! Thank you!

I'm kind of curious how many think the song would be better without the gospel singers in the background? I can't seem to decide, but I'm leaning towards without them.
