This is one of my favourite motorhomes! Why? Because it is so compact and so narrow! Easy to drive, easy to park - but the double floor ensures plenty of storage. This is the van I am currently thinking about buying! I have not got a clue where I am going to get the money from yet but that apart....
The Carthago c-compactline Super-Lightweight Is one of the narrowest motorhomes on the market and for this reason I think that the Carthago c-compactline Super-Lightweight is one of the most interesting motorhome models at the moment. With a main cabin width of just 212 m, the slimline Carthago c-compactline slips through gaps that other motorhomes can’t get through. Then there are advantages such as the Carthago driver’s cabin visibility concept, the bus mirrors and the tapering front. The c-compactline also has hail-resistant GRP roof, wood-free and high-stability body with full aluminium sandwich walls, tfully-fledged double floor and the GRP underfloor and AL-KO low frame. Due to intelligent lightweight construction technology, the vehicle still has a high load capacity.
The layouts and the “smartline” furniture architecture are adapted to the slim waistline.
The c-compactline has lost more than 20 kg for model year 2022 - without loss of quality or stability. The weight in the ready-to-travel condition in the standard configuration in all model variants has therefore dropped significantly below the three tonne mark, and the payload has increased. Anyone who wants to reduce the weight even more can order the optional aluminium wheels and the lithium ion on-board batteries and reduce the weight of the vehicle by an additional 20 kg.
From 2022, the new standard XL main cabin door “premium two 2.0” has double locking for security, attractive interior lining, a large door window and above all a comfortable clear passage width of 63 cm. The insect screen is invisibly integrated into the furniture design. Central locking is optionally available for the main cabin door and the standard driver's door.
Carthago can optionally supply a voltage converter from 12 V to 230 V with output of 1800 Watts in the c-compactline. In the new kitchen/coffee package, it is combined with a capsule coffee maker. New multimedia systems have been introduced in the cockpit as an alternative to the range of products from the basic vehicle manufacturer, and a moniceiver with DAB+ radio and a 6.8 inch display has been introduced. The multimedia system has top-quality equipment with a nine-inch screen including navigation and motorhome route guidance as well as many other features, including a practical rotary knob for controlling the volume and high-resolution display technology such as that found in modern smartphones.
The Carthago c-compactline product range consists of five integrated motorhomes from the short I 138 with just 6.41 m to the 6.99 m long I 144 LE and I 144 QB on the Ducato. They are all particularly suitable for city tours with their compact dimensions. The choice of layouts is German layout, a queen-size bed, a transverse bed, a practical compact washroom or an opulent luxury washroom.
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.

I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

Screams quality with Carthago over so many other brands. The garage double floor and access under the floor from inside is just wonderful. Highlighting the width difference is great advice Alan because if anyone not bothered then stay with C Tourer and the extra space for shower / toilet separates. Quite like the Compactline but that odd seater is a bit annoying and would want to not have the ‘roof’ bed and some extra light there instead. Thank you Alan.

@@rocketron9 Yes it is expensive. It’s just what level of quality people are happy to live with. For me, I need to live in it as my home. Must be quality same as my house I’m selling so it’s just relevance.

Stunning. That reminds me Allen you know how I mentioned I have 455 watt solar panels, with 2 circuit breaker and a 40 amp mppt charger. What I did not have at that time, 5x100amp gell batteries in my Toyota Estima 1996 model campervan as well. I have power that last me for ages. No one has that in such a small car with a 22 inch TV and swivel electronic push button remote control areial. It's like a mini rv.

That is incredibly impressive Mo. I have currently 360Ah of LiFePO4 power in my van which keeps me off grid from March to October. Your set up is particularly impressive because you have comparitively so little space!

@@VanlifewithAlan that's what makes it impressive. So many people could not believe it themselves, I get so many compliments. I never run out of energy with gel batteries. The lack of sunlight in winter, yet impressed how it fills up power anyway. I also have an lpg (propane) gas, 3 burner out back plus a good size kitchen out back.

I think it is easier to drive but that is just psychological as the front appears smaller. Practically, if the windscreen goes (and it will) replacing one for a Fiat Ducato can be done anywhere and will be covered by insurance but for an integrated it is another story. However I do prefer the storage in the integrated and I like it not having doors up front but I also know that that is a minority opinion!

The TV is not mounted on an arm bracket, so cannot be turned around to be viewed from the bed.

Or from the seats underneeth it. I hate TVs high up, better to have a 14" put on the table, or a decent Chromebook - cheap now, can do it, the ASUS folds over for this usage.

My understand is that it is 3500kg but depending on the chassis it might be up to 4,400kg.

Many thanks Alan. My 1987 driving license is restricted to 3500kg because of medical reasons , I’ve seen a 3850kg 2016 compact line with auto transmission , but can’t seem to find the unladen weight of this vehicle. I could plate it downwards but then don’t want to be left with minimal payload. Any thoughts? Thank you. Del

@@DS-fo4ed The unladen weight is under 3000kg BUT the model you saw might have additional equipment. I think the thing to do is to take it to a weighbridge. My understanding is that reducing the weight is no problem in the UK but you need to get specific advice for the vehicle you have chosen.

Good review, Alan. The van itself, well, the front is ugly, the back has no window, and the interior is like an inflated euro PVC, so I'm not seeing any benefit over a PVC TBH. Also in a PVC with the door open, you get a feeling of the outside, in this it seems a little claustrophobic, the thin door doesn't work for me. I'm sure it has it's fans, but the design... I'm not seeing anything clever.
