Really enjoyed watching this build. Thanks kicks ! My beach based buggy bashing is done using an RC10 b4.1 RTR that I picked up on ebay a decade ago. I always felt that I missed out having not built this one myself. Now I can live the experience via the medium of youtube !!

I lucked out with a good B4 on ebay last year. Had to buy another second hand one to make one good car out of two. Been racing it at Medway RC Raceway and I love how it drives. Happy to have one of my dream cars! Awesome to see what you have done with yours

That chassis looks very much like the Kyosho Dirtmaster chassis.
@Pablo66812 күн бұрын
The Dirtmaster is basically an RB5 Ultima with a different body. The RB5 was released around 05~06?
@ryansmith878211 күн бұрын
I don’t remember which came first but the RC 10 b4 and Kyosho rb5 were direct competitors.

Awesome build and body, really tip-top as we say in Switzerland 👏 Congrats, Gavin. As for the wheels, I tend to favor yellow wheels for runner (because of failing vision), and for this shelf queen, as it's white on the box, let's go white wheels. Honestly both look good 😊 Keep up the good work 👍🤝

Great colour scheme, do like the white wheels but the yellow wheels compliment the yellow on the body which gives it a great overall look so would be tempted to keep the yellow wheels on 👍

You have the blue cone washer the wrong way around behind the roll pin drive for the rear wheels. The cone washer presents a flat face to the pin/wheel to stop the wheels wobbling around. Prob no matter for a shelf queen.

Nice work Gav. I have that exact spec B4, albeit without the hop ups....I think? I bought it second hand/built. A very well balanced buggy with great turn in. I think it's one of those designs that they just got right. A bit of an epoch turning buggy. Great work with the paint btw.
@RCKickschannel12 күн бұрын
Yep, it looks super simple and not much to it but it had the performance that’s for sure. I’ll keep an eye out for a used B4.1 so I can drive it.

@@RCKickschannel Pretty sure the 4.1 is metric too.
@TastierBackInThe80s12 күн бұрын
The only thing you needed to do Gav was to give the green layer a bit more area, maybe bring the blue layer down a tad. Then burn in the beginning of each colour with a slightly deeper version of that colour. Otherwise its fine, nothing wrong with that livery as it is.

Hi Gav, I've one of these kits sitting (mostly) New-in-bag, minus the shocks and bodyshell. The shocks were put onto another B4 RS I got with the same lot and I managed to find another RS Bodyshell to go with the kit should I ever build it. Weirdly, mine is the same kit number #9035 and has the box art shown at 1:39. Do you know why your kit has everything in header cards and the different box, just an early version?
@asty41812 күн бұрын
Should have watched further lol 😅 The B4 is a great wee car, probably one of my favorites to drive around the track, you can really throw them around.

I’ve got a few rear sets with different offsets but yes, I think these are from the B3 or B2. The white rims are the correct B4 rims and the rims are almost flat.

That box is the stealth box and someone's just stuck a "factory team" sticker on it, the one you showed with the 2005 Neil Cragg body on is the Factory team box, not the "team" spec so I'm guessing someone just bought the blue bits and carbon plastics to put in that stealth kit to bring it up to spec?
@peterschuler449412 күн бұрын
As the previous owner of this box, I can tell you that it came to me as shown from the Team Associated distributor in Germany, which was Christian Keil GmbH back in the days. But I also figured that out, strange! Maybe that's the way they upgraded the first FT Kits at the distributor...

Hello 👋 I’ve started to get into the old Tamiya buggies, I started with a super hornet that is going well and I am now fixing a the fox which is going well. Do you have any recommendations of tamiya models that would be good for starters? (New models)
@RCKickschannel12 күн бұрын
Personally a Top Force Evo that is on sale or the Top Force is an easy build, good value and it's stunning looking. Bodies are easy to cut out and paint being one colour. It also drives well and easy to service and fix. For a road / rally car most go for a TT02 but if you can find a Tamiya XV-01 on sale, it will be more flexible for what you drive it on as it's a rally chassis. Amazing to drive on and off road and can take more dirt and dust as everything is protected. If your budget is really limited, keep an eye our for used examples that have been built and not run on eBay and you could save yourself some money.
@BurnRubber500012 күн бұрын
